Both are fired from high peaks of the mountains putting low flying drones easily in their reach. American drones fly that high for a reason. Our TB2s fly less than half of their altitude. Akıncı CAN fly 42k feet without any payload but I doubt it can reach American drone altitudes with weapons.
Houthis shoot down MQ-9 with this Saqr 358 missile, these videos don't really show the missile/drone there is no heat signature unlike in the Houthi/Hezbollah videos, that's strange.

Either the explosion is fake and edited in, or the PKK have edited out what they are using to keep it secret.

They will either want to push the narrative that they have achieved the supply of powerful weapons to bring Erdogan to negotiate in case of further losses, or to deter further attacks.

Or the whole thing is a lie, who knows.

Also to add,

In 2022 the KRG announced seizing a bunch of drone engines going to the PKK. Maybe it's not a manpad and is a drone ?

Jetcat engines. Maybe these are powerful enough to carry an explosive payload ? Then it's simply a case of using some object tracking system

"Malfunction" isn't it.

It is either turbojet powered mini drone/missile hybrid or a MANPAD.

Both are fired from high peaks of the mountains putting low flying drones easily in their reach. American drones fly that high for a reason. Our TB2s fly less than half of their altitude. Akıncı CAN fly 42k feet without any payload but I doubt it can reach American drone altitudes with weapons.

These embarrassing losses are the result of our own stupidity I must say. Close to half a billion dollars lost according to terrorists, to PKK's goat f..rs? And they never learned a single lesson from all those expensive mistakes?

Why are you not using cheap self defense measures like simple DIRCM, flare, chaff etc. on these expensive drones?
Why are you not adding 4-5 China cheap DAS like IR cameras to at least see what is going on around you?
Why are you not using E-7T to figure out who is firing at you from where?

Like I said TAF, Selcuk and Kotil outsmarted by goat f.... Embarrassing.

Man, that is such a serious sum of money

the biggest of deals. All you're losing is the occasional unmanned platform, whilst these pigs are getting liquidated on the daily by a precision munition in the middle of a town with 0 collateral.

They can preach as much as they want about downed drones.

Disagree, the cost is unsustainable. You're spending millions of dollars to kill a single person, with this exchange rate. Not all of the parts are domestic. To kill everyone in the PKK you'd probably have to spend a considerable portion of the GDP.

But this government has always been shit with the economy

I did that calculation when we first saw the wrecks months ago. We can burn plenty of drones. Thousands of soldiers in Iraq or daily sorties by jets and tens of helicopters easily peak over drone costs.

We don't know if they were shot down, how or how many. So far I still only saw 4 over a 8 month period. It's not nothing, but it won't hurt us economically either. Threat it could create is worse than the materiel cost.

"PKK received kamikaze drones from Iran"

According to the information MEE received from its sources, the terrorist organization PKK got hands on the Iranian-made Meraj kamikaze UAV from groups affiliated with Tehran.

A Turkish official with knowledge of the situation confirmed that the PKK was trying to buy kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicle systems. "But it is not clear who is providing these systems to them," the official said.

We should not underestimate the terrorists' guerilla tactics and make-shift weapons.
@DBdev
To your logic, every major defence company has been outsmarted by some kind of militia/guerilla/terror group etc. (See Houthis for example)
This is warfare. You learn as you experience shortcomings and or feasibility of deployment of certain weapons at certain battlefields/theatres.

If our armed forces learn from these mistakes. If the command structure has room to learn from these mistakes. If a desktop general back at the hq is making the decisions on kill loss ratio maybe he thinks 20 terrorist is worth it if we lose 4 drones.

I believe that is not sustainable.

If they are using daylight cameras to steer these missile like UAVs, drone operations should be done at night and with all drone lights off and above 40.000 feet at all times in these places. Avoiding high peaks.

A manually operated high altitude drone may not be stopped by only front looking AESA of AKINCI since it comes from back and sides generally.

Also chaff and flare would be ineffective since it is piloted remotely. Perhaps that signal can be jammed by 360 EW of Akıncı.
Turbojets & light turbo props can in theory reach higher than AKINCI so if soft kill doesn't work 3 AKINCIs should be protecting backs of each others in a large circular flying pattern and shoot down these drones with AA missiles when they see them.

Or an E-7T/F-16 can monitor the situation from far. F-16s with targeting pods instead of Akıncıs or TB2s wouldn't be vulnerable to these due to their higher speeds.

None of these solutions are ideal. Does anyone have a better idea to handle these drones that even Americans have to suffer despite Reaper being able to fly at 50k?

what about those who supplied pkk terrorists with such systems in the first place? Will the Government continue to rely on Israel or the US pulverizing iranian proxies in our backyard, whilst they continue to threaten and now possibly even directly arm our enemies?

Some high altitude turbojet RC drones can reach beyond 50.000 feet. Some can reach even beyond 100k+ with rocket engines.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_BQM-74_Chukar 40.000feet ceiling small turbojet RC like the ones in the pics

Iran is capable of reaching 50k since they reverse engineered more powerful TRI-60 unlike us. Kale decided to copy weaker TRI-40

Also our şimşek can only reach something like 20k according to Wikipedia

So no it is not BS propaganda. RC plane/target drone can fly higher than AKINCI and even Reaper.

Maybe the missile or drone they are using is edited out, if it isn't all fake.

Here's a similar houthis video using an Iranian made missile.

Concerning because if true, the cost ($) is high.

The video is being shared by the PKK using the KRG anthem in the videos they publish despite it being a different dialect.

This is clearly to enhance recruitment in Iraq, increase support for Bafel Talabani of PUK who is said to be taking a stand against Turkiye and reduce Barzani's power, especially with elections coming. It will be exceptionally dangerous if PUK win majority in KRG like they did in Kirkuk as this would mean Iran dominating the north as well.

Problematic as Barzani is who the TSK cooperate with to limit PKK movement. Instead we are humiliating Barzani, like when we blurred their flag as it's election season 😂

Barzani speeches calling the PKK terrorists was very important for TSK, as part of the whole PKK doesn't represent Kurds. But as an asset we have weakened his (ours) hand

The first tweet above shows the type of support PUK is getting and how this anthem connects PUK, PKK to a wider audience

Talabani Clan have always been hostile to Turkiye.

Yesterday big quantities of explosives were blown up at one of the entrances of the Matin tunnel. According to our main source for the developments around the operations in the north of Iraq, this is a sign that operations are starting.

Simultaneously there are airstrikes around all around the area including in close vicinity to the villages below Matin. As we know these villages are logistic center of the PKK and there are PKK targets in the villages outskirts. Some of the targets include locations around the Sergele dam. We know that there is a tunnel entrance close to it.

Soon guys
Really soon
Time for the TSK to hunt some heads
For Total control of that region ,Turkiye should mobilize 200k soldiers and other majoriry of airforce drones and aircrafts .
The problem is that even if we win and take under control we cant keep 200k soldiers for life there so pkk can spread again , To stop it Turkiye should work for prapaganda and anri pkk proxis to keep there .
