Honestly when the Ottoman Empire was weakening our sultans believed appeasing russia would lead to russia leaving us alone. But our sultans made a big mistake as you constantly feed the bear it wants more and more until it eats you.
Not just the Ottomans anybody who constantly appeases Russia ends up the same. Remember how the Western allies of ww2 appeased the Soviets which led to them taking over most of Eastern Europe
Ottoman establishment thanks to its corrupt clerics destroyed our ability to advance. The rest of europe were intoxicated on new technologies while we couldnt learn because "Allah won't appreciate us discovering his secrets". The religious orders literally had the sultan take cannons and destroy what would be called universities today over so called religious fears.
When in reality the corrupt religious class were terrified that if the Turks learn, they will question the religion and question their legitimacy to rule over the people.
So another moral of the story, we got no time to worry over all this dumb shit, we have to be better then our enemies in technology. That way you never need to appease anyone.
You can't allow nations who have cultures of drug and alcohol abuse to defeat you in the sciences.
You described Russians very well sir. Exactly my points. When the Azeri/Armenian war started it was telling that the Russians bombed and killed a rebel base in Turkish controlled Syria as a way to threaten Turkey over her support of Azerbaijan. It was telling that they didnt target Turkish troops, they revealed their hand with that attack. They had anxieties that the cost of killing Turkish troops again would be too high and they didn't dare risk it.
Before that attack no doubts they would have been discussing do we attack Turkish troops directly or do we attack Turkish supported rebels. They would have wanted to attack Turkish troops, but they feared that there would be an extreme cost to this.
Moral of the story, hit the russians hard and they are less likely to hit you. Show weakness and they will look for any opportunity to harm you.
To cut the story short, printing machine forbiding, which is ironic as the muslims invented rudimentary form of it.Honestly not just the religious class the empire was too traditional to even get reforms out because a lot of the nobles, jannisaries including the religious class loved their privledges too much every time you take it away they rebel. There was a few reformist scholars who were shocked about how the West has overtaken the Empire that much needed reforms had to be done to even catch up. You know the Jannisaries and the religious class also christian nobles from the balkans all opposed this because they preferred their worldly lives of pleasure and would rather see their own state burn then take it away.
Reminds me of the Samurai actually.
Too corrupt who only cared about their privledges. Industrial revolution brought an end to the traditional class of the world order in the Ottomans, India, China, Qajar ruled Iran and Japan.

It's unbelievable that they can't cooperate unless they're getting bombed. And under the TSK safeguarded zone they keep bickering. They should have cooperated sooner unless they're just interested in filling their pockets..
This is not good. This is literally the organized crime syndicate in the north of Syria separate on their own so they can continue their malign activities and ease of coordinating actions against other groups in the Syrian National Army.
According to sources these are groups who are only interested in personal wins. While the other groups within the Azm Operation Room are working and fighting these are creating crime schemes. It's unbelievable that they can't cooperate unless they're getting bombed. I guess we had the wrong perception of them. Which begs the question, why aren't TSK and SNA not pressing them out of the areas to outskirts of the safe zone. This is not good. I didn't want to say it before but I will say it clearly now so it is known and nobody gets deceived. If anybody is expecting something from the Turkmen fighters out of the Turkmen Mountain he will be disappointed. They are good at crime but not for fight. They fight 10 days and are staying 30 days in their barracks coordinating all kind of dirty work.
Its a reason why also scholars in islam warned against especially the youth to go to syria. One of the main reasons was because of internal conflicts that happens like this one. You dont know who you fighting for or against...Still not impressed to be honest.
These clowns will still continue killing each other while looting the people who live there.
It is a clown show and it pisses me off. While bashar continues to bomb them.
Its do or die from now on.

I am not sure how close you are following the situation but earlier last month these same groups announced that they will leave the newly formed "Azm Operation Room" which is formed after the successful model of the "Fath Al Mubeen" operations room in Idlib because of "unfair representation" in other words "we don't have enough power to decide if we are staying in our barracks and doing nothing other than trouble or we go to fight". The other groups from the operations room mobilized and besieged the HQs and barracks of the trouble makers. After 24 hours they decided that they don't want to die and will follow the orders. If it is so as you said, this is pretext for internal civil war within syrian rebels?
They are portraying them in the way they must be not in the way they are. We can expect them to be able to hit harder on the table now and they showed that they are in full consensus by choosing a general commander for the whole formation. I am quite pessimistic when it comes to these exact groups because the corruption there is on high level. The commanders are organizing crimes schemes and on top of that they are also stealing money from the salaries of the fighters that are also protesting both in Syria but also other places where they are deployed. We are talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars or even millions of dollars stolen.Syrian military groups operating under Turkey-backed SNA merge

Five military groups operating under the Turkey-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) in northern Syria united Thursday as the Syrian Liberation Front.
At a ceremony held in the center of the al-Bab district, the five divisions announced that they had merged and would operate side by side with the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in areas rid of terrorism following Turkey's military operations in the region.
Since 2016, Turkey has launched a trio of successful counterterrorism operations across its border in northern Syria to prevent the formation of a terror corridor and enable the peaceful settlement of residents – namely operations Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018) and Peace Spring (2019).
The Syrian Liberation Front will have around 20,000 soldiers and will be comprised of the Hamza Division, Mutasim Division and Sultan Suleyman Shah Division as well as the 20th Division and North Falcons Brigade.
Mutasim Abbas, the general commander of the newly formed military body, said five brigades were merged into a single unit and will continue operations against terror cells, adding that the front would fulfill its duties under the umbrella of the SNA.
Meanwhile, Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Thursday met with Syrian opposition figures in the capital Ankara.
The top diplomat met with Salem al-Meslet, head of the National Coalition of Syrian Opposition; Anas al-Abdeh, president of the Syrian Negotiation Commission; and head of the Syrian interim government Abdurrahman Mustafa.
"Fully supporting Coalition and Interim government, legitimate representatives of Syrian people," Çavuşoğlu wrote on Twitter after the meeting.

So are we faced with a government media portraying these 5 groups in a different light compared to our own knowledge about them ?
What can we expect of these groups, how can they "show" that they're shaping up ?
Who'll monitor them, which law enforcement is there ?
Because we are talking about ~20.000 fighters here. That manpower is needed. As much as they cause trouble they are still worthy in the way of manpower.I guess we had the wrong perception of them. Which begs the question, why aren't TSK and SNA not pressing them out of the areas to outskirts of the safe zone.
Maybe wire triggered?
