Turkey is never going to get that, the best option is to start to build a functioning nation out of the areas Turkey controls, then wait for the next opportunity sometime in the future.
There's no government or institutions for this to occur. So this is unlikely as well. The Syrian interim government only exists on paper
I know, and that is why the SNA is a lost cause in its current state.
The only way forward is for Türkiye to set up some type of government and all the institutions accompanying it.
The reason why the YPG was able to last as long as it did was because of state-building; Türkiye needed to copy the YPG and start to build institutions from scratch.
Neither Assad nor the YPG will give Türkiye what it wants, so the only way forward is a frozen conflict-like situation, much like Cyprus.
Türkiye may need to get more hands-on and de facto annex the entire area for a time then slowly give power back to the Syrian population of the area.

Problem is Türkiye is insisting on Syrias territorial integrity, which is why it won't establish state building measures. And because we live in the area we can't preach one thing and do another.
However I believe you're right that we should have preached about territorial integrity and established institutions to keep things going in the direction of statehood, but for that to have a chance of surviving they'd need access to sea and ressources.

TR will also have to disarm some of the militias and some of the leaders should be arrested, there are many grievances between the different groups and from the civilians they rule. But a potentially military confrontation with SNA or HTS might incite an insurgency against TR.
So TR doesn't get involved and as a result there is no local government or institution. Any local institutions that were beginning were ended by the militias, only might makes right. For example attacks against local courthouses, murder etc. The leader of Suleiman Shah for example was convicted by Syrian Interim Government courts but the decision couldn't even be implemented because of the military forces he controls.

This Abu Amsha regularly goes to Turkiye, he has bought citizenship. He also allied his faction with HTS, which is currently consuming SNA territory.

The US knows this and it is part of their strategy in Syria to consolidate. That is why it is working for them.

I see this as politics for local elections. There are plenty of targets to hit and hurt infrastructure on a level that makes headlines globally if we wanted.
Don't forget how fast the western media consolidates on us, and unless that happens I don't believe RTE or government is doing enough.

Either was US has fucked up. If it was US Forces this just opens them up to getting targeted if it was pkk the manpad was supplied by the US. Either way the US just attacked an NATO Ally.

Retaliation is not always apples to apples, 3500 lives were taken by us from the other side shortly after the Russian attack.
