To add to what I said, Türkiye can beat Israel in a war of attrition. But a limited skirmish deep in Syria is in their favor right now. PURELY due to F-35s. Kızılelmas haven't had weapon tests yet and ANKA 3s are in very limited numbers.

Sure, sending air defences is great, but perhaps it would be best to wait for some stealth platforms to enter the inventory before stepping in that deep.
Israeli will not attack Turkish soldiers in Syria,

I think we can say that Turkish soldiers started to deploy towards the Israeli border in Homs or Damascus as of tonight.
What about east side? Wouldn't it make sense to bolster up Palmyra east to the Iraq border and everything above? To prevent a corridor to YPG areas

He's just doing whataboutism now.

AKP has been power for 20+ years chaffing at the foundation of the Republic, getting rid of them takes precedence, Koalition parties can't do much because they never can agree on anything, so if judiciary and law enforcement can be corrected to neutral stance then we're off to a good start. Whether AKP or CHP they have too much filth in them and just need a front figure to get the votes.

With the exception of people like Mansur Yavas, I wish we had more like him and Muhsin Yazicioglu may he rest in peace

The trick to beating Isreal is for Turkiye to avoid a major war for the next 30 or so years. Maybe the zionist agenda is to have the leaders of that nation drag her into a serious conflict sooner, rather then later.

If Isreals intention is war with Turkiye, its better to have that war now rather then 10 to 20 years from now because the Turkish domestic capabilities keep getting better. In war timing is almost everything. Why should Isreal wait for Turkiye to have her own fleet of 400 fighter aircrafts, a massive air defence umbrella, countless types of armed drones, extensive ballistic missiles etc. Nah, if anything they should want that war yesterday. right now Isreal has a massive airpower advantage, why lose that to only fight at a disadvantage in the future?

My fear is that one day we will find out that erdogan was a zionist agent. We know he was a CIA feto agent already, probably deep connections to Mossad. Its a theme when the anglo-americans want to destroy a strong nation they implement religious nutters who work to ferment conflict against Isreal when they dont have the capacity to fight Isreal as seen with the mad mullahs of Iran.

Their plan is fanning internal strife, and division and they're doing everything to push these buttons including establishing kurdish state at our borders that should cause greater unrest. It's important to have fair and just laws. And give people work and opportunity to make something of themselves. But at the same time not tolerate any division, or any party that puts the people under such pressure.

Like in the past when PKK terrorized the South East Türkey to prevent development and such. We need to implement hard and merciless laws and anyone with a citizenship to our neighbouring countries should lose their Turkish citizenship/passport.

Unfortunately we do not know how many millions of Syrians are given Turkish citizenship and who can vote to effect the outcome.

when you look at the agenda that has taken place under AK party within Turkiye, 90% of it is basically Zionist agenda for the region. We got some military victories and our military tech is advancing, but everything else is pure zionism/globalist agenda.

What Muslims don't understand is that you only need a few of the leaders and the entire movement is compromised. They should know this from "feto" hundreds of thousands members, maybe millions all beliving they are working towards an Islamic cause. But in reality they were serving CIA/Zionist agenda. Islam is a powerful tool that you can use to undermine a Muslim majority society. So they use it and they use it constantly. It works the same for any religion.

Turkey moves to take control of Syria’s strategic T4 air base: Sources

Turkey has begun efforts to take control of Syria’s Tiyas air base, also known as T4, and is preparing to deploy air defence systems there, sources familiar with the matter told Middle East Eye.

Construction plans for the site are also reportedly under way.

Ankara and Damascus have been negotiating a defence pact since December, following the ousting of Bashar al-Assad. The agreement would see Turkey provide air cover and military protection for Syria’s new government, which currently lacks a functioning military.

Although Turkish officials had previously downplayed the possibility of a military presence in Syria, describing such plans as premature, negotiations have quietly continued.

While Israel views a Turkish military presence in Syria as a potential threat, Ankara aims to stabilise the country by leveraging its military capabilities and filling the power vacuum left by the withdrawal of Russia and Iran.

Turkey also intends to intensify its fight against the Islamic State (IS) group, a key condition for the United States to consider withdrawing from the region.

A source familiar with the matter told MEE that Turkey has begun moving to take control of the T4 air base, located near Palmyra in central Syria.

“A Hisar-type air defence system will be deployed to T4 to provide air cover for the base,” the source said.

“Once the system is in place, the base will be reconstructed and expanded with necessary facilities. Ankara also plans to deploy surveillance and armed drones, including those with extended strike capabilities.”

The source added that the base would help Turkey establish aerial control across the region and support its efforts to combat IS, which still has cells operating in the Syrian desert.

Ankara eventually aims to establish a layered air defence system in and around the base, which would have short-, medium- and long-range air defence capabilities against a variety of threats, from jets to drones to missiles.

A second source noted that the presence of Turkish air defence systems and drones would likely deter Israel from launching air strikes in the area.

The Turkish defence ministry declined to comment.

Unnerving Israel

Israel has regularly targeted Syrian military installations since Assad's government collapsed in December, with a recent surge in operations around T4. Last week, the Israeli air force struck T4 and the Palmyra air base, targeting runways and strategic assets.

An Israeli security source told the media on Monday that any Turkish air base in Syria would undermine Israel’s freedom of operation. “This is a potential threat that we oppose,” the source said.

Tensions between Turkey and Israel have escalated since the start of Israel's war on Gaza in 2023, ending a brief period of reconciliation between the two countries.

The collapse of the Assad government and Turkey’s emergence as a dominant power in Syria have further alarmed Israel, which now sees Ankara as a potentially greater threat in the region than Iran.

“We targeted the T4 military base recently to send a message: we will not allow any threat to our operational freedom in the air,” the Israeli security source told the Jerusalem Post.

The first MEE source also revealed that Ankara is considering the temporary deployment of S-400 air defence systems to T4 or Palmyra to secure the airspace during reconstruction efforts. However, no final decision has been made and Russia would need to give its approval.

Meanwhile, Ankara and Washington have been in talks about lifting the sanctions imposed on Turkey over its purchase of the Russian-made S-400 system, which led to Turkey's removal from the F-35 fighter jet programme in 2019.

In a phone call last month, US President Donald Trump and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed possible ways for Turkey to rejoin the programme.

Under US law, Turkey must relinquish possession of the S-400 system to be readmitted.

Turkish officials have proposed deactivating the system by disassembling and storing it, or potentially relocating it to a Turkish-controlled base outside of Turkey.

However, Israel strongly opposes any move that would allow Ankara access to the F-35, arguing it would erode Israel’s qualitative military edge in the region.

Israeli will not attack Turkish soldiers in Syria,

We said the same thing about Russia and the USA.

Usa shot down a Turkish drone even threatened to bomb Turkish soldiers.

Russia killed 33 Turkish soldiers in early 2020. Lets not forget how they killed 3 Turkish soldiers in 2016 by "accident".

What makes you think they wont Target Turkish soldiers?

They targeted a bayram gathering in Gaza they are the lowest of low. They will destroy mosques, hospitals, cities, churches at the same time bomb people at a special day.

Azerbaijan in particular should tread carefully. Turkiye will always have their back while Israel will easily abandon them and support Armenia when their interests suit them.

Russia and Iran were a perfect card for Israel to use against Turkiye now they lost those cards.

If only the Arab countries can get their shit together.

If we manage to use S400 in Syria, that will block a lot off airspace. It will make it difficult to attack in Syria.

I have already written here about some of the mistakes of Erdogan's foreign policy, in my opinion. Turkey does not need hostility with Israel. It is very harmful to it. And of no benefit.
If Erdogan is hostile to Israel because of his religious views, then this is the biggest stupidity. It is hard to believe. After all, he is a pragmatic politician.
There is no need to exaggerate the danger of Israel for Turkey.
Imagine Israel without the support of the United States. In a completely hostile environment. You probably inadvertently compared Israel to Russia, and Turkey to Gaza...
We have long-standing friendly, trusting relations with Israel. We buy not only weapons from them. We have long-standing cooperation in the field of security.
Look to the north, there is a huge superpower that does not particularly hide its plans for us. To the west is hostile Armenia, an outpost of Russia. To the south is Iran. That is, our environment is the same as Israel's.
It takes years to create trusting, friendly relations. But it is easy to create an enemy.
There are no unnecessary friends.
As for Turkish bases in Syria, I am definitely for it. Syria must be supported, helped in its development. The Syrians cannot be left alone with Israel. Turkey needs a friendly, strong Syria.

Israel is a de-stabilizing factor in our region. Attacking all neighbors around them and now focusing on Iran, to break out a big war.
Just watching them from the sidelines is in-acceptable

He is talking about the T4 air base near Palmyra region in Syria which will prevent the said corridor that Israel wanna build to the YPG as half of the Palmyra region itself is a part of the corridor planned by Israel

Israeli will not attack Turkish soldiers in Syria,
They 100% will do so if they want to because they wanna that when shit hits the fan, the US will come and protect them
The only problem is that the Turks, unlike the Iranians and other third rate arab countries, will respond heavily and even if Israel got what it wants, the sacrifice it will pay will be great

That is why they dont want Turkey to expand. Israel has no problem with the UAE, KSA, Russia, Iran, and many other nations expanding in the region as Israel knows that the expense the Israelis will pay to counter their rising influence wont be as enormous and painful as when it comes to Turks and sometimes the Egyptians as well

When we look at erdogans history, his general behaviour is to speak heavily against those he's doing business with behind the scenes. For example, there was a time when Turkiye and Iran were trading barbs, even war talk. Later on it turned out that during this period erdogan was helping iran evade her sanctions.

When it comes to Russia and Putin for the most part he's only ever said positive things about Russia and Putin, yet in some capacity he's militarily deployed against russia in multiple theatres.

So when you see him speaking so heavily against Isreal and receiving little to no repercussions for it, to me a deception is taking place. Azerbaijan has a critical relationship with Isreal, Turkiye like wise has a critical relationship with Azerbaijan. If erdogan was truly against Isreal he would create pressure on Azerbaijan to severe that cord, yet zero pressure has been applied. His war of words with Isreal is probably just a smokescreen, fake.

Because when you look at what transpired in Syria, Assad, Iran and Russia all lost. However, Isreal after Assads fall basically decimated the entire military capacity of Syria. For months they had a free hand to destroy everything in Syria, nearly her entire arsenal. So in essence they also won heavily with Assads fall.

If erdogan was truly against Isreal, he wouldn't have allowed Isreal to destroy the entire military capacity of Syria before doing something. A plan would have been made to instantly deploy many troops to the south of syria.

Whilst I agree that Israel is wrong to mess with Turks, they currently have a big advantage in air warfare. Going in so deep into Syria is a mistake imo.

Until Kızılelma, or better yet KAAN is ready and in the inventory in good numbers, Israel will have a qualitative edge in the air. This advantage just increases the closer you get to Israeli borders.

If Israel decides to attack, there's little that Türkiye can do in return without deploying considerable assets, we're talking about a full on war.

I bet this is what Erdoğan wants just to stay in power. Even if shit hits the fan, he'll be able to distract the population from internal problems, just like what Iran has been doing for decades.

I don't have faith in this government, or any Islamist entity that claims to want to counter Israel. If you want to beat Israel you need to beat them at their own game, have air superiority, be a more educated, more serious country than them. You can't just brute force them like the Axis or Arabs tried.

Iran was everywhere across Syria, Lebanon and had its fingers all the way into Palestine. We seen how that ended. I'm sorry to say but from the outside, Türkiye looks like it's falling into the same trap.

If tomorrow Israel decides to attack, and Türkiye does an Iranian style "retaliation", all you Islamists on here need to answer some bloody questions.

If a layered air defence network is deployed deep in Syria, I can see the advantage of it creating a "wall" against Israel air incursions.

It's mainly the timing, lack of support for Turkmens and peace deal will PKK/YPG which concerns me. Between the Turkish border and the air defence bases, there is a lot of potential terrorists that could turn on TSK.

TSK should've gone all out on northern Syria and divided the country Cyprus style. Create a Turkmen zone in the north. But instead it's using the religious card which is just stupid, even worse because PKK is part of it now too.

Using Islam for influence seems like an easy way to gain control but it's counterproductive. Syria will be open to Saudi and UAE interference, won't go anywhere in terms of education and development, will be breeding ground for jihadists. Having "control" over it seems more like a burden than anything else. Taking a large portion of the north and making a Turkmen state is a much better plan in the long term.

And we have precedent on how pandering to Islam and it's "ummah" ends for Turks in the region.

Look, no Arab country wants to fight Israel over Gaza. Why should we, non-Arabs? Who are we to be hostile to America, which stands behind Israel?
You probably know about the Abraham Accords. This is an agreement between Israel and Arab countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia and others. All these Arab countries cooperate with the US on security issues! Don't they see that the Americans stand behind Israel?! They see it, and yet...
So why should we (Azerbaijan) be hostile to Israel over Gaza, forgotten by Allah? Why should we be, as they say, more Catholic than the Pope?
And yet, in all UN votes, we invariably support Palestine along with 57 Muslim states.
The Arab-Israeli problem is not our problem. Even the superpowers cannot (most likely do not want to) solve it. Why should we, a small state with its own problems, get involved in someone else's thousand-year-old problem and feud with someone over someone?
Even a newcomer to foreign policy, the new leader of Syria, Ahmed al-Shara, understands and, it seems, approves of our position. Yesterday, he sent Aliyev a letter congratulating him on the Ramadan holiday: "Mr. President, dear brother!" etc. etc.

Our foreign policy has been tested for decades. Over 34 years of independence, not a single government has considered it necessary to change it even by an iota. Simply put, it is:
1. alliance with Turkey;
2. distancing ourselves from Russia and Iran;
3. hostility with Armenia;
4. friendship with Georgia.
