Tomahawk can launch from 533mm capsule.

Royal Navy use 533mm capsulle for tomahawk in Trafalgar and Astute submarines

Scalp Naval (McDN) also use 533mm capsule

There will be no air-launched Gezgin

Gezgin too big for F-16's weapon station capacity...And too long for fighter jet

We just need something like JASSM-ER...1000kg, shorter length.
Great information you gave. Then we are looking forward to seeing Gezgin-sub

Let's compare Atmaca and Gezgin equivalents. Harpoon has 4,6m length , 34cm diameter and 691kg whereas Tomahawk has 6.25m length, 52cm diameter and 1600kg weight dimensions. Torpedo tube of U212 submarines has 533mm diameter.IMO it is unlikely to launch Gezgin from u212.

In order to launch from a sub, Gezgin would need a capsule which would make it wider.

Unlike the MDCN cruise missile of France, the Tomahawk cruise missile has a feature of no need of capsule to launch from a submarine’s torpedo launch system.

USA use 20hr working turbojet engine to reach 1000km with their latest cruise missiles. KTJ3200 specifically designed to work for 17 hrs. I think Som missiles probably will have 1000km range another version with the new domestics engine. having 1000km ready, Gezgin will be at least 1500-2000km.

Torpedoes are real ship killers of any size! Although old in name and original design format, they have come a long way over the years. They have become stealthier, more destructive, faster and more accurate. They are expensive but indispensable weapons of any good sea platform. The two torpedoes (Orko and Akya) we are developing will be game changers in the seas they will be deployed and will be expended easily as the source of production will be domestic.

Interesting takes on the TR(L)G-230 video. They showed 2 missiles, one normal TRG with the TRLG next to it but obscured by the regular variant. Then they showed the TRLG being loaded in the canister and hitting the target with laser-guidance in the end, but did not show the firing of it. They did show a regular variant being fired though.

Also the laser seeker was literally duct-taped to the front of a TRG-230 and connected with a cable to the guidance section :D. Sometimes you don't need to be fancy and sophisticated I guess

if Atmaca able to fly super low why do you need longer wings? those are good to fly terrain hug on the ground as going on top of hills and mountains, or between them it needs good maneuvers, with Atmaca its different, its just goes on top of the water.. but it is able to use against ships too..
Som likely usefull if drveloped as local version of tomahaowk or scalp launch from subs or surface ship

Som’s shape and being specially developed for aircraft launched mission parameters , will not allow it to be further developed in to a tomahawk style missile.
Scalp (storm shadow) however is a similar missile. It is heavier larger and has longer range. It utilises a bigger jet engine. SOM’s next stage could be a missile like Scalp. But I think my money is on a supersonic cruise missile being in the works!
Current development work being carried out on SOM is the C series. A and B series are, HE and concrete buster versions. C series will be for moving sea targets. There is a SOM-J version which is smaller and good for moving sea targets and can be fitted in to the internal port of f35. SomJ will also be launched by Akinci drone.
Atmaca is the one that can hit be further developed as a cruise missile. There is however a program in the works called Gezgin . This is going to be a 800-1500km range subsonic cruise missile.

Pay attention to the propulsion.. :)

Do you think Akya uses water-jet propulsion? Or could it simply be a shroud?

I believe it will eventually use it.
I am on the mobile so i can not really differ if it is a nozzle or shroud.
Forgot to add: the nose section hints about maximum speed regime of the torpedo.

Let us translate it if you don’t mind;
The effective range of MAM-L ammunition has been improved to 15 km.
Actually it is the laser guided version that has been improved. But this is a free fall ammunition. So it glides to it‘s target. It has no propellant force. How it’s range is extended beats me. Unless they have changed it’s aerodynamic structure by altering wing geometry etc! Or now the TB2 can release it from much higher altitudes.

as it has no thermal signature behind it, it will be so hard to stop it for APS systems...

As our UAV technology is improving and our UAV fleet is developing to be a force to reckon with, I would like to see cheap but very effective stand off missiles being used from UAV’s like Aksungur and Akinci to attack multi purpose targets.
Our 210kg TRLG230 could be a great addition to serve this purpose. It has a range of 70 km when fired from ground. If fired from 30000ft, as it will not have to overcome gravity and will be travelling through rarified air with less air drag, it will have a range well in excess of 150km. This missile reaches speeds of 4.2 Mach as it dives from 25km altitude. This would be a supersonic stand off missile very hard to intercept with an explosive weight of 50 kg. Both Aksungur and Akinci can carry 2 and 4 of these respectively. If it can be fitted with the right seeker head, it can be made to hit moving sea targets as well.
Why Turkish military has not gone through this route is hard to understand.
