Mr İkinci: "The first version of LEVENT will be carried out using our Sungur Air Defense Missiles.
In 3 years, we will offer the latest version (Levent with Göktuğ missile) to our Armed Forces as an air defense system."

Now i recall the times back at IDEF i was exactly telling this :)
I wouldn't call that Sungur from this point on, it will be Sungur-N with two way data link and fire-and-update with a longer range.
Within 3 years = For TTHB. (TN-FAC)

Also told the Sungur - Levent variant will be in service sooner than the advanced variant :)

We're quite fortunate as I see it because we have a rolling airframe like Levent, but since sungur missiles are going to be packed inside the first versions I imagine that dual-quad pack sungur can be installed on our smaller vessels even TCG vessels.

I may be wrong but could the warheads of Sungur be changed ?

I'm thinking cirit and sungur sound very similar and could give our systems an advantage in export.

It doesn't need a rolling airframe if there is an innovative RF seeker.

Where does it say, the new version will have Göktuğ missiles? I think they will introduce new missile with iir + radar for Levent. Aselsan one will use Göktuğ missiles I think.

@Anmdt
Bro, is Germany try to delay our subs due to political reasons?
If there is such a delay we will hear that SSB is getting compensation from HDW like it has happened before.
Covid gives them an alibi to not do something and it delays things. 6 subs will be done, i am not sure if we will ever get anything whole from Germany.

Before Levent was shown to have 21 missiles but Gökdeniz ER has less missiles.
Levent will have just SUNGUR and SUNGUR-D which are different from Gökdeniz ER. I'm puzzled again:)

Are there any info about SUNGUR -D?
İs it larger SUNGUR?
İt will be a brand new missile. They said we can see Sungur equipped Levent fire trials next year.

can someone tell me how these missiles differ other than their seeker capabilities ?

To me Cirit and Sungur could very well be the same. But if need a sea variant I can understand the variants.

but it could be awesome if same missile can be used in many scenarios.

İf i myself were able to understand , i would explain to you bro.

For me
Sungur : is Mistral equal ( larger than STINGER) but Mistral has IR guidance SUNGUR will have İmaging.

SUNGUR -D : is larger variant of Sungur. Kinda first gen AIM9 without datalink.

Gökdeniz ER : is with datalink like AIM-9x but slim for naval platforms.

Am i wrong?

Cirit has a SAL (Semi ActiveLaser) guidance. It is also powered by a solid fuel rocket engine.
Sungur’s seeker head is different. It is to use IIR seeker. It is a fourth generation man pads missile. It’s engine is a dual thrust rocket engine. (similar to Stinger’s). (This is different to dual pulse.)
In sea ram mode 11 missiles are loaded to the Gokdeniz-ER. It looks like these are going to be for smaller vessels.
For larger vessels Levent with 21 missiles will be used.
Initially these will be Sungur missiles. But in next blocks it will be a larger missile more akin to WVR Bozdogan, giving better range and higher operational altitude. More like a RAM block 2 and more….
That is my understanding.
