I had yo search for what "fairing" means on a naval vessel and got lots of answers, but basically it means to smooth it out so it doesn't stick out like a thorn in the eye, right ?

Am I blind or is there no CIWS or PDMS on the front?
Unfortunately you are not blind:)
Having seen the photo, I started dreaming again: " Static , horizontal two sided compact launchers of UMTAS and Bozdoğan around MIDLAS

You mean 2x2? Would be interesting with 4x4= 16 essm block 2
With quad packed Siper would be much more interesting. Siper is inferior than ESSM, thanks to SIPER configuration, Malaysia will likely choose our ship.

Having ecosystem of defense industry creates additional advantage against rivals.

They should have added some CIRITs and UMTASs.

Care to elaborate on this?
Okay . İ should have said" siper will be inferior than semi-active guided ESSM block 1". At least siper will have active seeker and longer range , so siper is more than ship air defense system as it could engage high altitude flying aircrafts.

Just to confirm, when you say 'inferior ', do you mean that Siper is less effective than ESSM?

or do you mean to say that Siper is superior (better) to ESSM?

If these structure blocks can be added to existing ADA-class corvettes and if the ships have the appropriate infrastructure, this is great news. I wonder if there is a possibility of an earlier MLU process for Ada class corvettes. 16 medium-altitude air defense missiles could significantly expand the capabilities of ADA-class corvettes.

I thought that too, but then realized, wouldn't that require cutting main hull?

Looks like lockmart ExLS(16 camm) or maybe something Turkish?

If this is a variant of MIDLAS that will allow for a peripheral installation, it is likely that the proposed missiles will also be of Turkish defense industry origin in the first place. Btw, If what is shown is a scale model of the ADA class, then this structural block containing the peripheral VLS shown is certainly too large in its internal volume to be just 2 cells, it could be the entire system for integrating a VLS as a package, for ships without VLS. I don't know, but I really like this approach and I hope it's not just a whatif study or just a proposal based on Malaysian requirements.
