Aselsan was working on 25mm and 35mm CIWS concepts 3-4 years ago. 25mm variant was even introduced with a missile (likely Sungur) at the sides of the turret at a presentation but I don’t know what happened to 25mm concept. After Aselsan developed 35mm and 40mm ATOM munitions, They didn’t invest on 25mm ATOM so Army most likely requested a new CIWS-like platform based on existing 35mm infrastructure. By this way, Aselsan revealed Korhan 35mm and is preparing to reveal a single barrel Korkut for fixed stations. Modified variant of these can be used as a lighter CIWS on naval platforms addition to existing Gökdeniz.

Bro, the existing technology in the world not allows downsizing airburst ammo smaller than 30 mm without a significant decrease in efffectiveness of warhead as you cannot decrease fuze size and weight. May be in future, but not now.

Dual fed twin 35mm cannons with ability to use different ammunition types like smart air burst ammo. Comes at a expense.

Radar signature is a big issue too

its totally wrong, if you look at Gokdeniz design, its specifically designed to make low radar signature, unlike in Phalanx those round shape on top of it will pop up on radar like crazy... another reason Turkey used RAM in ADA class

In-house design/concept like the TF-4500? Also no VLS? Disappointing, looked like a promising concept. But there is no need to make the same mistake as the Germans and build a 7000+ ton ship without a VLS.

No chance the Navy would go for such a design for a gap ship to fill the gap between Istif TF-2000.

It is the future :)
Everything from WWII is being repurposed with developed sensors and shrunk guidance fitting into 76/127mm shells.
Could be a model placed by the organizers without STM being aware. The details are badly finished and resembles past TF-2000 designs.
It is early for TF-100. But if it happens i would still prefer sketches made by Naval shipyard in the past for 4000+ tonnes instead of this.
There will be another MILGEM frigate project after the TF-2000, they will replace the (not yet) modernized Barabros-class in the 2030s.

They will have to add new vessels for a higher number not just to replace older ones.
Every ship is being replaced with a more capable one with higher amount of firepower, same to be expected for Barbaros class. It would be naive to expect same firepower.
Yavuz - to be replaced by I class, 8 to 16 SSM, 16 SS to 64 ESSM.
Gabya to replaced by TF-2000, ? to 16 SSM, 32 SAM +32 ESSM to 48 (32) SAM + 64 ESSM + 0(16) ASuW
Barbaros - ?
Not even including increase in ASW, helicopter operations etc capabilities.

Probably STM didn't do the renders or gave the 3Ds,
What is written as Milgem looks like De-Zeven or Iver-Huitfeldt class which is avaliable in 3D in vast amount
FAC-55 the 3D creator has been a little creative and inspired from the other frigate, the SSM placement on FAC-55 is lit.
It has no base, nothing to be excited. Just a bad render-3D

For now the Navy is going to replace older ships, i also hope and wish that the combat fleet grows but... Navy has it's roadmap and knows what's inside the budget and what not.

I would like those 127mm guns to fire hyper velocity rounds too. It is the future of these bigger guns as per the US navy is experimenting.

Turkey should develop those kind of rounds for naval and ground artillery. I think most of them are subprojectile rounds and we can start by developing conventional rounds. For example Italian Vulcano fired from 127mm can reach 100km+, Dart fired from 76mm reaches further than conventional CIWS .. If we equipped our platforms with those kind of ammunition, it would be a force multiplier. Unfortunately this technology will affect ship defense requirement, so we need to act fast for countermeasures too.

Correct! As we are in good cooperation mood with BAE Systems in TFX program we could ask them to work together with us in developing the Turkish version of the Hyper Velocity Projectile weapons systems. This would benefit our precision artillery round and railgun development programs too as these rounds are modular and can be used in 155mm , 127mm and in a railgun.

If the STM "next generation" Milgem concept is on scale it must be a huge ship about same size of TF2000, aprox. 170m long.

I start to wonder whether the TF2000 design is going to be scrapped and replaced by STM Milgem design
Replied here, STM doesn't work on a TF2000 design (actually they do as primary contractor of Turkish navy or any other design company for contract-detail design, but Turkish Navy leads the project)
The render was nothing serious but a bad 3D, Ada-Class was supposed to be there.

to be honest i dont think so... why would someone make a render mistake but actually design a perfect ship? its a very uniq design in reality.. its a message i guess after making a deal with Ukraine about the engines..
