We should take this opportunity of high demand and upgrade our navy to higher specs with newer and larger ships. We just need more people working on them.

At this rate Mugem will not only lack any helicopter or fighter jets to take off from it but also a mission group to protect it. We are building it as a museum piece I suppose
Don't worry they can use its deck for events sponsored by Baykar.

Don't worry guys soon we will have sailing version of TB2, who needs frigates when you have floating MALE drone, am I right. Time of frigates is over.

What is more hilarious is that Indonesia will be the first ones with MIDLAS Strike capabilities and Siper meanwhile the Navy will continue licking the window in front of the bakery.

And people will tell you that this is fine.

Why fast delivery, for what reason does your navy need those ships urgently?
Do you know?

Maybe we don't have money enough for EF or the purchase of Qatars EF is on the condition of selling Istif.
We do and we dont but it has nothing to do with those ships, they are financed by Qatar to ''help'' Indonesia.
And it also looks like Qatar will probably ''gift'' those EF's to Türkiye.
Every Muslim country gets financial help from the rich Arab Gulf states but the military powerful Muslim countries get more.
Proven by history.
Now that US military help is questionably most Gulf states look to other powers,Muslim powers prefered but some rather join an alliance with Israel(UAE).
See the KSA Pakistan alliance as an example,Pakistan will get new toys now with KSA finances.

If we sell the Anadolu we can make the Mugem way faster. We can probably make two at the same time, we can double down.

Fatih says it's not yet clear which ships Indonesia will buy and there's nothing but the original MoU and the recent financing deal with Barzan. But adds Indonesian government is pushing for the shortest available delivery timeline.

There are lots of Istifs coming online in the next 4 years. We are expecting the last 8th ship to be delivered by 2030. I also agree that moving the Indonesian order to the second batch, at least one of them could be an acceptable workaround for both parties. That way, TN would receive 2 frigates by end of 2027 and 5 by 2030, Indonesia would get one this year and a second one by 2028-29.

My only credible source for this matter is Naval News (Tayfun Ozberk) and Defence Turkey (if they published any article). Sadly, Defence Turk and SavunmaSanayiST, and M5 lost credibility to me, along with the people attached or overseeing those.

The trio whom i have mentioned de facto goes into defending mode whenever such news and speculations occur in wrongdoing of SSB. On the other hand Tayfun Ozberk has no organic ties (funding), affiliation or whatsoever to SSB, or MSB.

They have dones the same when it first was speculated that TCG Akhisar and Koçhisar was agreed to be acquired by Romania. This was delivered in Naval Systems Seminar earlier in 2025, while these people heard the fact that it will be sold, they came to defense as if 'nothing is concrete yet'.

What's next, Reis Class last three hulls? We shall live long enough to see.

Elections are coming up, the 'defense export' numbers should be bumped up above $10B immediately, and since we somehow managed to vacuum and wipe clean the special funds spared for projects related to SSB for the alternative channels, we also need funds for giant projects - Aircraft carrier to begin with.

USN NAVSEA delegation visited Istanbul Shipyard Command.

I don't think this ever happened before, maybe during transfer of OHPs or earlier. Interesting to say the least; but navy did show the world that it can handle so many things all at once, sharing workload between state and private shipyards at rapid succession. There are indeed things they can learn from us. I wouldn't expect a USD based deal like export of ships or technology, maybe we can see a deal for maintenance of local USN ships in the future.
Should be for maintenance as well. Remember when earlier an USN ship has gone through a mishap and been drydocked and repaired in Turkey.

This should be more of an official way to establish such a channel for further unexpected maintenance needs. Better to dry dock and transport equipment to a naval shipyard for repairs than a commercial one.

I mean since 7 are under construction, it could maybe make sense to sell one of the second batch, but selling not one but two from first batch after staff have been assigned is not nice.

The point is not all those 7 being built concurrently. The delivery of last hull safely marks 2030, or end of 2030 if everything goes as planned.
That means, TN is getting 5 frigates by 2030 and 2 more will be constructed (hopefully) to be delived by 2031.

4 of our Gabya's are not up to date, other 4 makes it barely to the end, 2 of Yavuz class frigates withdrawn from active service, for 'training' duties since it started to lack spares and maintenance, 1 one the Barbaros class goes through MLU which takes roughly 1 ½, years with acceptance procedures and above all, add the drydocking schedule. All in all, we are quite shorthanded up until 2030, despite the mobilization of entire shipbuilding capacity.

If there is an alternative reality in which politicians are not using defence industry as a propaganda tool, I am envious of them. Spending billions on unnecessary project while fucking over our military by gifting contracts to incompetent people because of their affiliation or selling stuff we desperately need. It fucking sucks.
