Israel opens China-run $1.7 billion Haifa port, to boost regional trade

The Middle East now has a major new seaport, thanks to China’s Belt and Road projects. It serves the northern Israeli city of Haifa, and its automated container operation was constructed primarily by the Shanghai International Port Group, which will also operate the facility.
