Mm, You need to check this years numbers. BEVs and PHEV are 15%+ of the Turkish market. We are talking about 800-900% increase in sales for EVs. Considering Daily production rates Togg reached last month, in 2024 Togg alone can have close to 10% of the market. EVs can have close to 50% market share in the next 3-4 years. With Current tax rates EVs simple makes sense. I admit that 40% is nearly impossible but over 20% decrease is plausible.
50% wouöd work in certain markets such as Scandinavia but 90% of Turkish population don't have the cash to buy EV and infrastructure to charge at home.

Cheaper models will come out. Car sharing will be common.

It is all about taxes. Gasoline and diesel cars has around 100% taxes compare to less than 25% taxes for EVs. You can see what kind of advantage this gives EVs in Turkish Market.

Good but what about the infrastructures to charge these EV's ?
there is no even germany has no infrastructure for that and they do nothing for this!
as for turkey no problem let just 200k people charge at home in istanbul alone... now think of 1 million cars charging there is no way this will work with even 5 times the capacity we have today..

EV is not the soulution specially not without the real infrastructure with much more nuclear energy or cold fusion all around us..

I ask myself what the benefit of EV? why? its not clean! CO2? for what? because the CO2 industry?
if we wanna cut C02 than cars are not the problem.. if want cleaner air cars are not the main problem! all that ships and tankers are much worse for the environment.. if you wanna do something good than ban these things.. use clean energy there.. its possible but no one does it..

we could save 70% co2 from cars if we would have ammonium benzin mix these kind of motor is possible there are even other motors wich go more efficent.. or hydrogen is also one thing that could help..

I only see all this as a global agenda and an industrial thing to make money..

Has been slow, driving inside of the major city centers and some highways is currently the only feasible way for EV.
But a dozen or so companies have applied for licenses so i hope we will see an acceleration soon.

Compare to price of Electricity, Fast charging prices are quite high, it is very profitable business and It is regulated by the government like gasoline prices. So, It will scale with demand. State will insure long term profitability of charging station business and It will be marginally cheaper than gasoline per km thus everybody is happy.

New field exploration continues in the Cudi-Gabar Mountain region. They started Kapanlı-1 drilling today to test a new structure in a different location. Their target is 3,130 meters
3,130 meters is it too much investment! you try to find correct places on very difficult terrains for small resources and spending big budgets... i think Turkiye doesnt have suitable sources for petrol but gas BIG YES. We will wait and see what we will be gain end of the day, it will take minimum 5 years to understand about our gains.

3,130 meters is easy play for onshore drilling.

One of my friends who studied about this sector, has explained to me before, south east of Turkiye is very difficult area for searching and processing. We have to drill too deep if compared to our neighbours, while they have clean sources but we have low quality. He said most of our oil sources is low gravity and isn’t worth to invest...

That is because the geography is rocky mountains. It has nothing to do with drilling depth. 3,130m is an easy play for onshore drilling. We are drilling further down offshore and it is still lucrative.

What's the latest on the East-Med explorations?
Nothing. The thing has top secrecy. In Turkiye, if one thing has secrecy there is something to hide. I think we found something but don't want to announce it. I'm suspicious that all this making friends with Greece is related to this.

A critical meeting on the transportation of Turkmen gas to Turkiye via Azerbaijan took place in Ankara.

The meeting emphasized the importance of constant communication between the two state-owned companies in order to open Turkmen gas to Turkish and world markets. In the world market, the first phase is to transport Turkmenistan's gas to Turkiye via Azerbaijan, while in the long term, it is planned to export this gas to EU via TR.

This cooperation took place within the framework of the "Memorandum of Understanding on the Development of Cooperation in the Field of Energy" signed on December 14, 2022, and was recently supported by critical meetings in Ankara.

On January 29, a delegation of Turkmengaz and Turkmenpetrol officials led by BOTAŞ Deputy General Manager Mithat Aydın met at the BOTAŞ building with the participation of Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Ankara Mekan Isanguliyev and discussed in detail the transportation of Turkmen gas to Turkey and short and long-term cooperation opportunities between the parties.

Turkey can become a major natural gas exporter by importing gas from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan (in addition to Russia), importing LNG (from countries such as Algeria and Qatar etc) and exporting these resources to Europe.

Turkmenistan's discovered natural gas reserves of 13.6 trillion cubic meters ranks fourth in the world natural gas reserves ranking after Russia, Iran and Qatar.
