RTE: "We will work harder to transform our relations with Azerbaijan into an institutionalized economic and political integration model. We will launch new projects that will strengthen our ties with the Turkic world with the goal of 'unity in language, ideas and work', which was outlined by the late Ismail Gaspirali about 1.5 centuries ago."

It is important and noteworthy that these words belong to the institution of the presidency. And, these words should be evaluated together with the following: https://www.aa.com.tr/en/world/turkic-council-eyes-forming-united-states-of-turkic-world/2192579

I have written a lot under this heading, my dear friends have underlined very important strategic issues and developments. I am not going to repeat all this, but it is quite clear what the deepening integration step by step, the unity of language/alphabet, culture and history, combined with security, economic and political integration, means and where it is pushing us regarding the common destiny of states. Full EU-like economic integration and even a common currency are goals that are no longer far away. A union of states that is self-sufficient in energy, raw materials, intermediate products and production functions is not a utopian goal.

But at the core, we seem to be on the verge of bigger developments. More precisely, the main element that will form the core of this union and create its gravitational pull seems to be much closer. In the next 20 years, a 100 million tripartite federation of Azerbaijan, the Turkish Republic of Cyprus and Turkiye is no longer a dream. After cultural integration, security integration has been realized to a great extent. Now, political and economic integration will be the next stage of Azerbaijan-Turkiye integration.
Erdogan is the last person I would've expected to cite Ismail Gaspirali considering that his ideals are basically the polar opposite of everything that Erdogan supports.

Pakistan Army chief in Uzbekistan to boost military, defence ties

“Gen Munir appreciated standard of training and readiness of Uzbekistan military forces and their understanding of regional security issues,” says ISPR

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir called on Uzbekistan’s top civil and military leadership and emphasised enhancing mutual training cooperation and intelligence sharing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the army chief arrived in Uzbekistan on a two-day official visit aimed at “enhancing military-to-military cooperation and defence collaboration”.

During the trip, COAS Gen Munir called on Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, defence minister and chairman and secretary of the State Security Service of the country.

During the meetings, the army chief emphasised enhancing mutual training cooperation and intelligence sharing, read the statement.

“Gen Munir appreciated the standard of training and readiness of the Uzbekistan military forces and their understanding of regional security issues.”

Earlier upon arrival at the Ministry of Defense, the COAS was given a warm welcome and presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent.

He also laid a floral wreath at the memorial complex of martyrs in Tashkent.

In July, Gen Munir visited Tehran. During the trip, the army chief and his Iranian counterpart vowed to eradicate “terrorism in border areas”, said the military’s media wing.

According to the ISPR, the army chief had detailed meetings with the military leadership of the neighbouring country including Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri during his “successful” two-day visit.

Both the military commanders agreed that “terrorism is a common threat to the region in general and both countries in particular”.

“They vowed to eradicate the menace of terrorism in the border areas through intelligence sharing and effective actions against the terrorists' networks, and explore avenues for enhancing cooperation in the security domain,” the ISPR added.

The army's information wing also said that Gen Munir called on Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahain.

The Iranian leaders and the army chief discussed the significance of Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations for regional peace and stability during the meeting.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı said that the member countries of the Organization of Turkish States (TDT) will create an agricultural insurance pool.

Minister Yumaklı attended the International Conference on Food Safety organized by the Uzbek government and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Commenting on the conference to the Turkish press, Yumaklı pointed out the importance of food safety and stated that he had the opportunity to re-explain what Turkey has done regarding this issue at the conference.

Yumaklı said, "We explained Turkey's contribution to world food security, especially the grain corridor, which is appreciated by the whole world, with the initiatives of our esteemed President (Recep Tayyip Erdoğan). In addition, we also reiterate here how important the agricultural production of countries is in the future and what factors it depends on." "We had the opportunity to express it." said.

"We held bilateral meetings with our Uzbekistan counterparts"

Stating that they are ready to share their experiences with TDT member countries, Yumaklı emphasized that they will all be together on what can be done regarding some environmental and climatic factors.

Yumaklı stated the following:

"We held bilateral meetings with our Uzbekistan counterparts on this issue. We will come together again to discuss the topics both in Turkey and here as Turkish states. The aim here is to gain good momentum from this synergy. We will work with the countries that are members of the Organization of Turkic States on both agriculture, forestry and water topics. "It is our desire to support each other and cooperate to achieve higher-level results in our relations."

Yumaklı pointed out that they are focusing on a model with Uzbekistan, as well as with Azerbaijan, regarding agricultural insurance, and stated that they have been working on establishing this model in Uzbekistan for a while.

Noting that the member countries will later create a common agricultural insurance pool, Yumaklı said that this union will contribute to all countries.

Yumaklı also stated that Turkey has a special relationship with Uzbekistan and added that the relations, which have gained rapid momentum so far, will continue to develop in the concepts of agriculture, forestry and water.

Think tanks from Turkic states meet in Kazakhstan for talks

Head of Organization of Turkic States, representatives and diplomats from several states including Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan attend meeting

Think tanks from Turkic countries convened for a high-level meeting in Kazakhstan's capital Astana on Thursday.

Nuh Yilmaz, chief advisor to Turkish foreign minister and head of the Center for Strategic Research (SAM) under the Foreign Ministry, and his delegation attended the ninth meeting of the Official Foreign Policy Research Centers of the Member and Observer States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

According to a written statement issued by the Kazakhstan Institute of Strategic Studies, a state institution which hosted the meeting, among the attendees were OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev, representatives and diplomats from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Hungary as well.

In his speech at the special session of the meeting, Yilmaz said that the OTS has undergone a rapid transformation since its establishment.

Trade routes have changed and Asia has come to the fore in the world economy, he argued, adding that they should not miss these opportunities presented to them by history and geography.

The official further said that the importance of transportation networks and connection roads around the world has increased, and that the most important reason why the Turks, who were active on the route in the past thousand years, are no longer so was that the Silk Road was replaced by sea routes.

He emphasized that in a period when land routes gained importance again, the Turkic world was again at the epicenter of these trade routes and had an opportunity to regain its former importance.

Yilmaz further underlined that they would either take advantage of this opportunity or leave it and wait for the opportunities that will arise again a few centuries later.

The official, who also held bilateral and multilateral meetings on the margins of the meeting, also met with Omuraliev.

In their one-on-one meeting, Yilmaz and Omuraliev discussed the joint projects that think tanks in the Turkic world can undertake in the coming period.

210 million at peak. Hopefully the Turks can translate their numbers into serious geopolitical influence in the future.

The Turkish President Erdogan met with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Holding a joint press conference with President Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, President Erdoğan said: “Developments in the world and especially in our region have demonstrated the importance of our union under the Organization of Turkic States. I would like to take this opportunity to emphasize again that we would like to see Turkmenistan, which is an observer member of the Organization of Turkic States, as a full member in our family assembly.”

The 10th Summit of the Heads of State for the Organization of Turkish States is currently ongoing in Astana, Kazakhstan.

However, Kazakhstan have succumbed to EU and Greek Cypriot pressure, and withheld the TRNC invite.

Kazakhstan, economically and politically one of the largest members of Organization of Turkish States, yields under pressure from EU and withholds (I hope they did not withdrew it) TRNC invitation.

This is good enough for me to take a hint of what this organization is capable of and its political capability for now and in the future.

Good luck Turkic World.

Integrated culture has alienated us from our own culture. We are searching for the dream of a great country in the wrong geographies and with the wrong cultures

This shows, once again, that annexing the TRNC into the motherland is the way to go.
I am not sure that it brings us to such point to arrive this conclusion. I think what it shows that Turkey does not carry enough weight over the Turkish world as she boasts!

It’s a freaking invitation bro.
If you have so much power in this so called Turkic World, then demonstrate it. Put your pressure on Kazakhstan in a diplomatic fashion. And if still it doesn’t work, then you leave the summit.

But then again, energy wise, we are a deprived country of course.
We wouldn’t wanna upset any business partners.

Kazakhstan have been making very risky moves to distance themselves from Russia. I guess they don't want to antagonize the Europe at the same time.

I think it is understandable. We are not that politically free and militarily able yet.(As a Council)

Agreed. In fact, I’m surprised that they finally decided to get rid of the Russian yoke off their shoulders.
That said however it will take more than this gesture of approachment towards Europe to get away from Russian political, cultural and economic influence. It’s deeply rooted In Kazakhstan as well as others in the region.

Also they must always remember that Europe is not a very ’solid’ friend, if they are ever to be one.
