Near apex of a hike I took with some friends...around late October around Ottawa Area (on Quebec side).

In background is the Ottawa river. This is roughly about a 350 metre height.

Something for the engineers here to ponder upon. :D

Pretty standard retrofitted stiffening to prevent buckling (vibration modes use the same eigenspace as buckling).

Probably to be extra sure it wont happen to golden gate after what happened to bay bridge in 1989 earthquake ( a section failed).

After the buckling shown above, they put in these massive absorbers plus a lot of other improvements:
