If we become non aligned thats good for us really.
Turkey's already trying to be non-aligned and it's not really working too well. You either pick a side or you make a side.

As the joke goes "the problem with playing the middle-man is that you get it from both sides".
No wonder the Greeks like them
While the CHP is ranting about shitty peace, Greek media and govt are already preparing for war. In fact, during the previous week, some prominent greek channels stated that the only way out of this deadlock is through a war in which the victor gets all

They are building anti-tank trenches throughout the Turkish-Greek border, supporting PKK, and forcing the US to build bases on the contested islands

The moment they succeed in doing so, the moment they will declare full control and monopolisation over the EEZ whether the Turks like it or not
Greeks are a distraction who are in even deeper shit economically than Turkey despite pretensions to otherwise. Mitsotakis is cashing in checks that he and Greece absolutely cannot afford especially with the upcoming global economic crisis.

what's the point in putting military bases within the turkish artillery range ?
Provocation, a pill that many seem to willing to swallow if you ask me.
Its not important who is stronger, its important who is getting the support from west in case of a conflict.
Guesses anyone?

Now you know why Greece is pushing for it, its not like a Flag painted on some rocks will prevent anything, no, the oposite is the goal here.
But, no CHP bad for trying to avoid conflict, as if AKP has done anything about the issue themselves...

How is that good,do explain?

We can pursue our own interests while not being in any camp. Not to mention we can have relations with the west, russia and china while not being on their side.

Sure,if we were a country without enemies just waiting to make a move at the first sign of weakness from our side.
What can we do against Greece in such a case(NATO article 5)?
And if Russia makes a move, who is coming to help?
Is our country totally independent on weapons(engines etc)?
What if they refuse to supply what we need(already weapon embargos from allies)?
Still want to be non aligned?

They are making the same mistakes they did after 1996. Back then the tensions were also very high and they went on a shopping tour bought equipment left and right and few years later got bankrupt very hard. They thought EU means free cash without any responsibility. Olympic games here, little bit corruption there, no investment in Infrastructure, Industry...

Even in Nato they are still embargoing us while taking our F35s away.

Greece can only fight a defensive war

The only way you can be non-aligned sustainably (while being a fairly large nation) is to have credible arsenal of nuclear weapons and delivery options.

Otherwise nothing significant enough backs up the non-alignment to the final tier needed.

Without this assured capability.....whatever you say/do geopolitically means only so much....as you are either are in a camp (officially or non-officially)....and without much choice in the end given what (WMD in others hands) means.

....or you fly under the radar by being small/quiet enough....which is bulk of countries in the world below certain population and GDP etc.

I sense 🇹🇷 (being above this significance threshold by some distance and in the region/geography it has)....approaches fork in road of major decisions to be made this decade....as old collective security promise wears out and true strategic autonomy seems more reliable. It must pick direction choices well.

The last part is pretty interesting. "Cözüm sürecini elestirmemizin nedeni de yöntemiydi".

Stupidity at its max tbh
They are just trying to act good with the kurds while trying to gef the votes of the turkish hardliners. This is a tactic the CHP has been employing in recent days to gobble up the votes!
I would like to know what sort of "process" was wrong? Hell, it was even rumored that the AKP even planned to pardon all PKK members of their previous crimes! They reached to a point that when the peace process was going on, they used to carry terrorist activities within Istanbul and near the border to put pressure on the govt at the time

There is nothing called "wrong" process when negotiating with terrorists since the result will always be the same no matter which "process" they use.

Shame on the CHP to even say such things!

I dont support military coups but seriously akp and chp and other piece of trash parties now starting to make me support a military coup even more.

Its hard to even keep a positive face really. Democracy sure does make a lot of politicians become wh**** for votes while betraying their own voter bases. Seriously when does say that democracy allows you to committ treason?

Whether the CHP and The AKP are bad or not doesnt ligitemise supporting a coup at the end! Supporting a coup at the end is still wrong and many are justifying such thoughts since anger is blinding their eyes

Just like in another thread when some individuala laughed at my post for saying that the military must be ruled by civilians and not be independent. The moment ppl support coups, the moment the position of "TOP" general becomes tantalising to those with greed for ruling with iron fists! This paves the way for foreign powers to infiltrate such institutions and c9ntrol shitnfrom the shadows. What sort of country are you in, when a few generals just decide to topple the govt and rule the whole country at the tip of a gun's barrel

The prime example of this is FETO! Many believe that FETO, of gone, wont come back; to which I would reply with: "it will come back with a different name and form since as long as there are turks who believe that the military must be independent from the state, then the foreign powers will chose the corrupted nationals to such position of power since hard power and blood is the most effective method of ruling after all"

An example: Egypt! This country is stuck in a dilemma when the top military general has even more power than the head of the state and that is why many foreign powers prefer to court the generals before the president and this was the case in Turkey when FETO was ruling and even before the AKP when the US military used to say that we "hold the Turkish military in the highest regard as the protectors of the secularism of the country". Since when did generals were able to dictate whether the country is secular or not? The only ones who have the power to do are the ppl themselves and not some random old man with a few stars on his shoulders
