A lot of people in this sub will support this, but I'm against it. Jail those that broke the law, but a party that is representing around 10% of the population should not be banned. That's undemocratic and the AKP should know better, since they were on the brink of being banned a decade ago.

Guess that MHP has Erdogan by the balls.
That party acts against the Turkish law itself, it's a continuation of already banned parties.
A Party that directed budgets to PKK, encouraged civilians to rise up against the state, organized recruitment to a terrorist group etc.

You know, in the end they will found a new party or join as independents at the next elections and join the parliament. It will be roughly the same 10% again. We have seen this already in the past in other forms.

Its better to punish those that break the law, then to go after the party itself imo, remove the rubbish, and maybe they'll find someone competent and not radical to chair the party and to bring change.

And btw the markets agree, its the last thing we need right now. USDTRY is up again. We need stability right now and HDP and PKK both are under control right now.

HEP 1990-1993
ÖZDEP 1992-1993
DEP 1993-1994
HADEP 1994-2003
DEHAP 1997-2005
DTP 2005-2009
BDP 2008-2014

It's not going to change anything, not really, just drive the Kurds further away. You cannot imprison people who have not broken a law without trial. Given how easily Erdogan wields the judiciary, trials should be easy.

Erdogan is trying to stay in power, Bahceli is calling the shots here. Meanwhile the opposition is like haemorrhaging or something, the economic crisis continues. Something about the national oath ?

Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Bekir Sahin filed a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court demanding the hdp be shut down. The indictment was sent to the High Court.
Are we going to satisfy our thirst for revenge or are we going to fix problems?

Closing a political party that gained 6 million of votes is going to fix what exactly? Are saying Kurds have no right bring for their politics and only was is being a terrorist?

Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu threatened a veteran's relative who reacted to the planting of saplings with HDP's Pervin Buldan.
He is probably point out that he would find if he is an AKP member or not. Implying that martyr's relative is doing this on political purposes.

On the other hand, you are planting trees with HDP, then go a martyr's grave. Trying to say, "I respect all of our values"....but to my eyes all of this looks like political shows. Do your job like Mansur Yavaş.

+ You don't talk to a martyr's family like that. If they don't want to you there, you should respect their opinion and leave. IMO, nothing is above martyr's families wishes. I found it very ugly to involve martyrdom into everyday politics. Other politics does that too and it's realy ugly.

He ruined everything. His political career is over, his political actions are weird and illogical, he pleases the wrong people, he's simply a disappointment.

There's also no real improvement in the municipal infrastructure of Istanbul.

I dont know what the good parts would be, but there are two parties to choose from: Davutoglus (former FM) or Babacan (former Economy Minster) or if you want you can join Fetullah Güllens people. All of these 3 alternatives are former AKPian and full of former AKP personnel.

Doesn't exist. Saadet Party is pretty conservative and anti corruption. Babacans party is pretty liberal and who knows what Davutoglu does.

I remember visiting Turkey with my parents as a kid.
Constant power outages. I couldn't drink water from the kitchen's water-tap without having to spend the rest of holiday in the toilet with diarrhea.
Always had extra amounts of candles and mobile cylinder gas on reserve to even be able to cook food.
Today it's a whole different story in a positive way :)
Those gurbetcis, because they don't live daily in Turkey can see the progress Turkey has made and is still making.

I wish Turkey wouldn't have been such a horror-show back then when Turkey needed to "export" people to Europe because Turkey couldn't care for them within the country. As if it was my choice I was born outside of the country and had to grow up in a foreign country.
Off course I'll vote Erdogan, if you like it or not !
Have you ever been to NewYork city where you can't drink water from tap.
My family and most of İstanbul people still don't drink city water.
20years ago many european cities had bad conditions as same as Turkish cities. We should admit all progress upto time and modern technology.

"İn Zonguldak City, Two people, who had abducted the deer from the zoo and ate, were arrested."

In 2021's Türkiye still strange things could happen.i wonder if it related with famine.

Yes, there's a huge famine in one of the world's fattest countries. Absolutely.

Germany doesn't close the NDP in order to keep it "on the grid" better keep the party running while target the wrong-doers even if it was all of them.
We should do the same with HDP otherwise they'll go underground and have sympathy abroad "fighting for democracy".
Crack down should be on individuals no matter how many, gradually, they'll be docile.

Eating macaroni, rice and using the cheapest possible products increases obesity much more than eating nice meat and fish etc. Obese population doesn’t mean that we talk about a wealthy nation.

ps Deer meet is pretty unpleasant and not tasty to me at all tho...

Sugar and high carb nutrition is the problem and of course watching dumb TV shows all day long instead going out.

You didn't get my point. Of course, prices for food and grocery items are much too high in Turkey. The cost of living a healthy and nutritionally balanced life is skyrocketing. But portraying the situation as if Turkey is suffering from a frigging famine is ridiculous. It's simply a lie.
