ROKETSAN Cakir Engine will be provided by KALE ARGE.
The Engine Specs seem incredible.

> The capabilities gained during the development of the KTJ3200 program provided us with flexibility and agility
> The development activities of the KTJ1750 engine started in 2021.
> Production of the first prototypes is almost complete and testing is only a matter of time.
> The qualification tests of Kale R&D production KTJ-1750 Turbojet Missile Engine, are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.

KTJ-1750

> 1750N thrust
> 20 kilograms
> thrust/weight ratio of > 11
> Diameter of 202mm
> Length of 464mm

The KTJ-1750 won the bid for the CAKIR Missile from Roketsan against TEI with their TJ-300
The Specs of Kales are even better than TEIs offering or any other Competitor in this field.

Woooow
To think Kale actually surpassed TEI in something; Iam honestly impressed

TEI needs to step up their game; I know that they are busy developing many different engines of various classes but TEI is TEI after all. All in all, competition is good as it promotes growth

According to what available factual data that makes ktj1750 better than tj300.
I did not see any ktj1750 engine running but there are tests of tj300 reaching 1342N of thrust. Can someone enlighten me about it?

Some of you guys didn't believe me when I said Kale was chosen for OMGS engine..

SSB is also partially to blame for the perception of the people on the internet.
How difficult is it for them to announce that there is going to be a Tender.
The way Information is distributed seems either very emotional or too convoluted.

TEI CEO Aksit was announcing the Engine like they were the sole provider of the Engine (TJ-300)
Ministry of Tech Varank has also visited and hyped the Tj-300 in which we could make out the TJ-400)

It depends. What kind of compressor is used axial or radial? How many stages the engine has in the compressor or turbine. We can't compare them without knowing more.

Agreed

However, compared to the international competitors of TEI TJ-300 in its class, it is still undoubtedly one of the best

Kale's one was better but that doesnt mean that TEI's engine was horrendous
It is like TEI got an A+ but Kale got an A++ in this tender. Regardless, A+ is way too good as well

First of all please note that Kale names it’s engine according to the Newton thrust it can develop. TEI on the other hand names them according to the lbf thrust.
These engines are expendable engines. So they are not produced to very strict tolerances.
TJ-300, on paper develops 300lbf thrust; which is 1334Newton.
In practice it has reached about 5% higher than that.
But KTJ-1750 develops 1750Newton thrust. So it has more thrust.
This means that the CAKIR needed an engine with more thrust than TJ-300 could provide.
But the weird thing is that we know there is an engine TEI was working on called TJ-400. We all saw it‘s FADEC screen. That engine would have given 400lbf = 1779Newton thrust. Why it was not chosen is a mystery. (unless it was only available on computer and not physically) . However there is also the probability that the size of KTJ-1750 may be more suitable for the 275mm diameter CAKIR missile. (TJ-300 had a diameter of 240mm but not enough thrust. And TJ-400 may have had to have a larger diameter)
Also remember that due to CAKIR’s operational profile, it’s speed will vary from 0.4 Mach to 0.85 Mach. So the engine that is going to propel the missile has to have throttle up and down capability. We don’t know if this could be done with the TJ-300.

The strangest thing is that Kale R&D, which received consultancy services from Prof. Dr. Akşit at the beginning, suddenly started doing a good job from TEI.

These are turbojet engines and will be producing jet thrust. So they have to have axial flow at compressor inlet and at turbine level. They usually have 4 compressor stages and 1 stage turbine. KTJ-3200 has a 4 stage axial flow compressor too like safran micro turbo engines.
TEI TJ-300 has a 4 stage axial compressor and single stage turbine like the safran tri-40 and 60.
The power output level is governed by the internal design and the rotational speed of these engines.

You may have seen the recent announcement from Roketsan, unveiling the new missile called Çakır. During the unveiling ceremony held at Roketsan premises on 31/03/2022, it was also announced that the KTJ1750 Turbojet engine developed by Kale R&D has been selected to power the Çakır missile. I’m sure that many people would like to learn more about the development history and the specifications of this engine.

As our followers will know, Kale R&D has been working on the development of Turbojet engines since 2012 and has already developed the KTJ3200, which will power the SOM and Atmaca missiles. The serial production of the KTJ3200 has already started this year. The KTJ3200 has been a huge opportunity for our team to experience a whole engine development programme from start to finish, comprising design, testing, manufacturing and assembly activities amongst others.

At Kale R&D, we also design and produce the control systems and engine accessories of our engines mostly inhouse. We own Turkey’s single Altitude Test Facility specifically developed for testing jet engines that provides our engineers the chance to validate their designs at real flight conditions. Seasoned propulsion engineers will know very well that building a prototype jet engine is one thing, however, making sure that the engine complies with all the harsh requirements is another thing which can only be accomplished with sophisticated test capabilities. The capabilities that we have gained during the development of the KTJ3200 programme gives us the flexibility and agility that is required to support new programmes such as Çakır.

The development of the KTJ1750 engine has started in 2021. Thanks to our established capabilities in all engineering disciplines providing us with high ‘Technology Readiness Levels’, we have been able to complete the design very quickly. The production of the first prototypes is nearly completed and commencement of tests is imminent. Full qualification is planned to finish before Q4 this year.

Below you may find some key specifications of the KTJ1750 turbojet engine.
Thrust: 1750 N Weight: 20 kg (excluding ECU, Fuel Pump and Harness)
Thrust-to-weight ratio: >11 SFC: <1.1 kg/(daN*h)
Casing Diameter: 202 mm
Max diameter of engine envelop including pyrotechnic ignitors: 227 mm
Length: 464 mm (increased to 609 mm with a longer exhaust nozzle for Çakır).

TEI should continue developing its TJ300-TJ400, it is good to rely on more companies than just one.
Idealab's development should be pushed to a finished product as well.
The more the merrier.

Kale Group Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and Head of Technical Department Osman OKYAY also touched upon the ARAT Project and said that the project started as of November 2021 after the approval of SSİK and that they aim to complete it in 30 months and reveal the engine, although a 40-month calendar is presented in the project.

The KTJ-3700 weighs the same as the KTJ-3200, but produces more thrust and has a lower SFC. It can also work at an altitude of 10,000m. With these features, it will form a basis for ARAT. The tests of KTJ-3700 will start in the second quarter of 2022....
Kale is recently doing a really impressive job

Ever since the KTJ-3200, and they already developed 2 new engines using the KTJ-3200. This is a good improvement. Kale is set to be a critical player in the defense industry soon enough

Now I wonder about TEI, they already developed the TEI TJ-300 year ago and no new engine was mentiined till now. Are they keeping their projects a secret or not, I womder
