Russian diplomat found dead in hotel room
Nikolai Kobrinets, general director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, was found dead in his hotel room in Taksim, Istanbul, where he came to attend the ambassadors' meeting. The police are continuing their work on the incident.

Incident in Istanbul: The Russian diplomat, who came to Istanbul to attend the ambassadors' meeting, was found dead in the hotel where he stayed in Taksim.
The incident developed as follows: Nikolai Kobrinets (61), general director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, came to Istanbul to attend the ambassadors' meeting. The diplomat went to a hotel in Taksim around 14:00 the previous day and stayed here.
His colleagues, who were curious about the diplomat who did not attend the meeting in the morning, asked the hotel officials about the Russian diplomat.
DIPLOMAT WAS FOUND MOTIONLESS IN BED
Unable to reach the diplomat, hotel staff also entered the room. When the officers saw the diplomat motionless in bed, they notified the medical teams.
Upon notification, medical teams arrived at the scene and determined that the diplomat had died.
Thereupon, police teams started an investigation into the incident. According to the initial investigations of the coroner, public prosecutor and crime scene investigation teams, it is thought that the diplomat died of a heart attack.
Following the investigation, the diplomat's body was taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute in Bahçelievler Yenibosna to determine the exact cause of death. The police are continuing their work on the incident.
