To me this confirms that KAAN will get a better TOYGUN (and maybe a better KARAT too), compared to KIZILELMA.
The optical system used in 5th-generation aircraft is TOYGUN. It is currently flying with our KIZILELMA, and we are also observing its tests. In fact, optical systems normally need to receive energy from outside in order to see. Here, however, there is a different technological solution inside that has only a very small portion exposed externally, reducing radar visibility while still delivering strong optical performance.
Together with laser designation capability, it becomes an important component of KIZILELMA and, in another version, an important component of KAAN as well. KARAT, meanwhile, is better understood when described as a ‘passive radar’; it is a system that performs radar functions using electro-optical systems.
This is also very interesting.
At sea, our PİRİ product is also being actively used operationally. This will truly create a significant force-multiplier effect. We also have a roadmap toward conducting operations without using radar in some cases.”
