A New Era in Detection and Identification with the FULLMAR Radar!

ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol:

“This is a 360-degree rotating AESA radar. It's a multi-functional reconnaissance and surveillance radar, FULLMAR. It also has SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) functions.

It's a system that can identify critical targets on the ground, such as air defense batteries, radars, and tanks, at long range.

Its operational counterpart is the ANTIDOT family. With electronic support, it can pick up signals from much further away, jamming the radar and bringing our UAV closer, thus enabling a safer operation.

This radar is currently in production. You will see it in our UAVs and in operations in the coming days.”

The naval version of the SAR radar, with a range of 600 km, will make it possible to detect tanks on land from hundreds of kilometers away.

The biggest problem today is FPV kamikaze drones. Transmitting kamikaze activity and firing positions from several hundred kilometers away, in real-time, 24 hours a day, to ground artillery systems is a technology that neither Israel nor the US possesses today. If the US had it, they would certainly provide it to Ukraine or Israel, and wouldn't allow them to be humiliated in front of Russia or Hezbollah.

To me this confirms that KAAN will get a better TOYGUN (and maybe a better KARAT too), compared to KIZILELMA.

The optical system used in 5th-generation aircraft is TOYGUN. It is currently flying with our KIZILELMA, and we are also observing its tests. In fact, optical systems normally need to receive energy from outside in order to see. Here, however, there is a different technological solution inside that has only a very small portion exposed externally, reducing radar visibility while still delivering strong optical performance.

Together with laser designation capability, it becomes an important component of KIZILELMA and, in another version, an important component of KAAN as well. KARAT, meanwhile, is better understood when described as a ‘passive radar’; it is a system that performs radar functions using electro-optical systems.

This is also very interesting.

At sea, our PİRİ product is also being actively used operationally. This will truly create a significant force-multiplier effect. We also have a roadmap toward conducting operations without using radar in some cases.”

🔴 ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol described the “Ghost” of KAAN and KIZILELMA for the first time!

“Artificial intelligence is, of course, a major topic on today’s agenda, and we are carrying out very intensive AI-related work. We have fully integrated it into our processes. ASELFLIR-510 AI is one such product.

It is a version that enables the camera to perform operations more effectively by training some of its functions with AI.

The ARTLINK GHOST family was developed as an intra-flight data link using a special waveform designed to make enemy detection extremely difficult. It is the link that creates the swarm capability in aerial operations.

It can provide communications broad enough to conduct swarm operations, yet it uses a very low-observability waveform. That is why it was named Artlink Ghost.

It is an important component of both KAAN and KIZILELMA. There will be communication between two or three aerial vehicles, but the detectability of that communication will be extremely low.

Of course, all of these are also the systems we could describe as the ‘brains’ of aircraft such as KAAN, HÜRJET, and HÜRKUŞ — from mission computers to flight computers.”
