New Russian Russian FPV drone with a coil of thin fiber optic cable over 10 kilometers long. The drone transmits digital, real-time video over a 10.5km spool of fiber-optic cable. This kind of drone is almost impossible to stop with EW.

I think it would be good team up with some of the Central Asian Turkic countries to mass produce loitering munitions/kamikaze drones. It's a win-win scenario. We could produce them extremely cheaply whilst also driving forward the defence industries of all Turkic countries.

It would also be a good step forward for our "shadow" defence industry. Think of YİYA-3.

We have lots of advanced weapons programs which meet NATO standards. I think we should supplement these with cheap but effective solutions.

Why do you think Iran has so much confidence? They have a huge arsenal of cheap drones and missiles that could overwhelm the USA's forces in the region.

We need a hybrid approach. Hyper advanced core military + cheap supplementary shadow force. One thing I would propose is, fitting cheap missiles and loitering munitions to expendable unmanned platforms such as Alpar and Gölge Suvari. These would launch the first barrage, overwhelming and disorienting the enemy before more advanced systems sweep in and decimate them.

Hualien was hit by a 7.2-magnitude earthquake on the 3rd. Many countries extended a helping hand. However, the media asked that Taiwan only accepted help from the Turkish special search team and declined at first. Why? Lin Youchang , Minister of the Interior , explained that the terrain of Taroko is so harsh that current domestic drone equipment cannot operate successfully, and Turkey must be used for help.
The Central Disaster Response Center pointed out that Turkish search and rescue personnel will come to Taiwan to assist in disaster relief. The first batch of seven disaster relief personnel will arrive in Taiwan at 5:55 pm on the 6th. Equipment such as thermal sensors and optical cameras will be purchased in Taiwan and assembled on site. Humans and machines assist Taiwan’s 8th line of disaster relief; the second level is under planning.
However, the media asked that Taiwan only accepted help from the Turkish special search team and declined it at first. Why? Minister of the Interior Lin Youchang explained that many countries immediately expressed their willingness to help and provided special search teams, emergency supplies and donations. After evaluation, the special search team was not needed because Taiwan had sufficient rescue energy; the supplies were also sufficient domestically, so Also declined; donations accepted.
As for why we only accepted help from the Turkish special search team, it was mainly because the terrain environment of Taroko was harsh and communication was very difficult. None of the current domestic drone equipment could succeed, so Turkey had to help. He said: "(Original sound) None of the drone equipment currently used in the country was successful after testing, but this is because Turkey has experience in the use of drones and has special expertise. 』
Lin Youchang also emphasized that Turkish drones will be tested in the difficult area of Taroko in the future. He hopes that if similar disasters are encountered in this area in the future, there will be a breakthrough method to make the rescue smoother.

MERSIN, Turkey — Taiwanese company GEOSAT Aerospace and Technology has inked an agreement with British firm Flyby Technology that paves the way for the purchase, technology transfer and production of 160 Turkish-made Jackal drones.

The memorandum of understanding, signed during the Taipei Aerospace Defense Technology Exhibition this month, involves the transfer of technology to the Asia-Pacific region and other geographic areas, according to a GEOSAT news release.

“Based on this, we will further develop and produce a new generation product, 160 JACKAL drones,” the company’s statement said. “UK-based Flyby Technology has agreed to provide payload solutions, testing and production planning for the new 160 JACKALs product and other Flyby authorized products.”

Murat Islioglu, general manager of Turkish business Fly BVLOS Technology, told Defense News the Jackal drone was originally made for civilian use.

“Following our agreement with our U.K. partner Flyby Technology, Jackal is equipped with Thales LMM [Lightweight Multirole Missiles] and has performed the first test-firing with great success. This was a clear demonstration of the multipurpose capability of Jackal,” Islioglu said.

Research and development for the Jackal began in early 2022, Islioglu added, and was designed and manufactured by Turkish engineers. In April 2022, the company signed an agreement with Flyby Technologies to export five drones for $1.25 million. The drone carried out tests with the LMM weapon in October 2022.

“Just a few months after the export agreement with the British company, we signed an agreement with Taiwan UAV Technology Center to exchange know-how and open an office in Taiwan. This agreement paved the way for future collaborations,” the manager said.

He added that Flyby Technologies has purchased the intellectual property rights for the Jackal in July 2023. “Flyby Technology has full rights to manufacture Jackal in the U.K. and export it. However, we made some reservations regarding the export of Jackal in the agreement,” he noted, a possible reference to customers the

Turkish government may not want to receive the drone. “But we still provide technical assistance for our partner.”

The details of production, assembly location and timeline will be confirmed in a separate agreement, Islioglu said.

The Jackal is a remotely piloted air system able to land and take off vertically. It has a payload of maximum 15 kilograms (33 pounds) and has an operating range of 130 kilometers (81 miles). The drone can reach a cruise speed of about 108 kph (67 mph) and can reach a top speed of 160 kph (99 mph). It can operate as high as 4,000 meters, and the pilot can control it via satellite communications technology.

Power for the two pairs of rotors and electric fans currently comes from batteries, but production versions are to use a turbogenerator. The maximum takeoff weight is 105 kilograms, which is to increase to 155 kilograms or more with the new propulsion system.

The Jackal has the potential to conduct airstrikes, provide air support, attack helicopters in flight, target tanks, perform logistics missions, and deny the use of runways and roads. Because it is a plug-and-play system, users can integrate other equipment and technologies into the drone.

Was the foul play here ever resolved? Something like UK has rights which isn't licensing but Fly BVLOS can manufacture and sell as well? Like a weird unusual contract or what

I believe it's the FlyBVLOS who developed the drone and they sold the IP rights to the UK.
It was explained in here previously.
