Looking İsraelis ARROW there is nothing unbelievable for Turkish defence industry. Adding active radar seeker and IR seeker onto Turkish sounding rocket you would get Arrow SAM. Moreover SM-3 missiles use improved AMRAAMs seekers' so we reached already those technology. Just need to gather them. Those Sonda rockets are future exoatmospheric SAMs.

Yep its how India leveraged its ballistic missiles to be basis of developing BMD +ASAT platform too now.

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't it be wiser to develop a "reusable" rocket similar to Space X's if the priority is to launch satellites into space?

Or is this far too advanced for the current programme?

You don't want to deal with too many innovations at a time. Re-usability is about cost reduction which is only a secondary goal for us. Once we pull off the main goal of acquiring the basic capability we can always go for re-usability going forward. This way we can progress without snags.

Yup this is spot on. The sequence of steps need be prioritized to get to higher ones over time.

And also developing metals that will work for few minutes vs hours is whole different level. Especially for high tension environment like rocket. I read that SpaceX rockets can be only used for twice and they are trying to increase that number to 5 (few years ago. Maybe they are re-using it more than 5 now.). Re-using same rocket for hundred times is not achived yet by anyone.

Has this programme been halted? Or is it secrecy?

Countdown for ASELSAN's cube satellite

The countdown has begun for the ASELSAT Cube Satellite, which was developed by integrating ASELSAN-designed critical components into the platform produced by Istanbul Technical University.

Satellite communication systems are indispensable means of communication for military units. The importance of satellite technologies used for secure voice, video and data communication, which are parts of command control systems, is increasing, especially during cross-border operations.

From this point of view, ASELSAN presents one of the most competent communication tools as an alternative solution in order to meet the tactical needs of the military units in the field and their command centers and their headquarters and commanders in the battlefield.

ASELSAN offers both military and civil satellite communication systems and satellite systems solutions by using its knowledge and experience in the fields of project management, system / subsystem design, software development, production, testing and integration in satellite technologies.

In this context, ASELSAT 3U Cube Satellite was developed as part of the self-funded R&D Project. The satellite took off for the USA-Florida to be placed in low earth orbit on January 14 with SpaceX's Falcon-9 rocket.

History will be given to the products

ASELSAT, which was developed by integrating ASELSAN-designed critical components into the platform produced by Istanbul Technical University, is expected to start its duty after the successful placement of the orbit.

ASELSAT will download the optical image obtained with the camera payload to the ground station via the X-Band down line subsystem, and collect statistical data about the space environment with the radiation dosimeter and temperature sensor on the digital card payload.

With the ASELSAT Cube Satellite Project, it is aimed to verify the X-Band transmitter developed by the company during its orbit mission and to add a history to ASELSAN products.

DAG is the most unbelievable. It is capable telescope and we have it. The next telescope down from it I believe is a 1 meter Russian Turkish shared telescope, there is a huge difference.
