Masked Georgian police officers, whose identities were hidden, beat the demonstrators. Levan Khabeishvili, head of the pro-Western UNM, was seriously injured.

Masked people were also seen during Russia's seizure of Crimea. An exact copy of the events taking place in Ukraine is taking place.

Georgian parliament adopts law on foreign agents in second reading by 83 votes to 23. The measures, which will apply to NGOs, media outlets and campaign groups that receive more than 20 percent of their funding from abroad. It will still require a third vote to become law. But that is now expected to be a formality given the ruling Georgian Dream party has a working majority and amendments are not routinely proposed at that stage.
