SNA was supposed to be the better and more moderate version of HTS. We don't want HTS anywhere, but they manage to survive and not only this.

Whatever happens right now in Aleppo may be the trailer to what may happen to Afrin one day. By the looks this whole operation is not coordinated with TSK. My hope is at least SNA manages to secure good positions (if they aim at holding ground).

HTS is a beast, but as we know that the negotiations with Assad failed, they are actually doing whatever we couldn't do and they have the right.

Personally I am ashamed of the silence by TSK. These people that are supposed to be safe in our areas are just an open target and they know it. How are we supposed to return the refugees in Syria as we are not even determined to defend the people that are currently there? Women and children were targeted including a school with 15+ martyred and wounded children. While everyone is waiting for a response by TSK, Turkiye even urged for the SNA to remove the statement regarding the meeting yesterday where a response was discussed. Isn't this unfair? I fully understand the part of the Syrian Opposition forces that feels betrayed. We may be silent today, but no crying tomorrow. These are humans, not just tools. HTS has gained such a popularity due to our inadequate stance and lack of deterrence. This is something we should think over.

When HTS talks everyone listens. When we talk they curse us. This is not fair to the soldiers on the field that are held hostage by politicians without a plan or vision.
Hard agree. I can't fault Syrians for trying to carve their own way by their blood. But I don't think we are just clueless about what's happening on the ground. Must be more complex. And even if not, we will either join from the back with fire support, or we will support them when they are thrown back and Assad starts attacking Idlib, like the last time. Nothing has changed.

"2 months ago, Jabhat Fateh and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham were shooting at each other, 1 year ago Jabhat Fateh al-Sham and HTS were eating each other, 4-5 years ago Nureddin al-Zengi was driven out of Idlib by HTS. All opposition groups are almost united for Operation Preventing Aggression, so understand the magnitude of the operation."

THE M5 DAMASCUS-ALEPPO HIGHWAY IS CUT OFF!

Local sources report that TSK gave an order for the preparation of all available equipment in Idlib for a large scale operation against the M5 highway.

According to the source TSK gave the order to respond to direct attacks and situations endangering the forces.

The sources report that in the coming hours advanced EW equipment will be activated and there may be network disruptions in the area.

The Turkish state has not the slightest provable involvement in this operation. Despite this, some Iranian and Russian influence agents on social media are trying to create such a perception with forced comments. One of them even posted a photo of a Turkish lira in the pocket of one of the dead militants, lol, the stomachache is big.

Have they reached Aleppo yet? I dont think that Russia will just sit and watch anti-Assad forces take a strategic city like Aleppo tbh

Moreover, why is Turkey not involved? If they left the SNA alone against Assad, PKK, Iran, and Russia, then they will be decimated. Turkey cant afford to lose the SNA forces which is spent time and effort to train. Above all, lets not forget that Assad has airpower while SNA doesnt

I honestly thought Aleppo was much further to the south than on that map, damn. No wonder everyone is doing their best to keep terrorist enclaves alive.

I mean Assad can't clean it up himself or has manpower to hold it, so that must be why they're using PKK as a buffer/partner. imo that's a bid mistake.

No wonder everyone is trying to create a perception that Türkiye is partaking in this. But to be honest I do not think it will be any different even if we started an operation on our own, everyone is just waiting to spam social media with fake news and create false perceptions.

True strenght would be to be able to conduct your operation whenever you want, and stop when you achieve your goal, but always look out for opportunity to increase your gains.

Serakib is heavily fortified, it won't be easy, but in general Aleppo offensive is concentrated on the M5. If the opposition can control and hold the M5, they will gain a very important advantage. I am not an expert, but my impression so far is that the operation was very well planned.
