I bet it is either PK or Malaysia. As far as i a know there is no TAI office working on MMU program except in these two countries.

Gun is for dogfight, T.Kotil said, MMU will not get into any dogfight.
The USA said the same thing for F-4, and it didn't go well for them. One of the criticisms of the F-35 is the number of gun rounds. Especially given that the 5th Gens are appearing with big numbers there will be dog fights between 5th Gen planes. Because stealth is stealth for the other 5 Gens as well.

There will be gun in TFX to be used in close air combat. It is clearly stated in the following slide taken from a presentation at an official seminar and shared on the forums.

Designs change, so far nothing has been said openly from authorized mouths. Nothing was said at the last meeting either, so it is not certain.

If they revised the design to strip the gun off, well, I don’t know.
A gun is the last resort for a fighter pilot and it’s up close and personal.

I remember a documentary where many veteran Israeli pilots of Arab - Israeli conflicts mention how things got out of hand quickly when their python AA missiles failed occasionally and they suddenly found themselves in a dogfight to death with their opponents. And all they got left was the gun and their skills as fighter pilots.

Also let’s remember how the USAF envisioned the Cold War.
According to contemporary doctrine, high altitude Soviet bombers would penetrate Western air space and to counter them all they needed was the newly developed AA missiles. In fact, they bet so heavily on them that they believed there was no room for guns anymore in that new era where they would be engaging their opponent on such long ranges thanks to their AAs.
And we all know how it went, like Hasanrize said, when they had to engage MIGs with the deadly 23mm guns.

Short version; as long as there is man in the cockpit, things might get out of hand and you need to protect him/her with a last resort weapon.
Hope they didn’t remove the gun.

HAVELSAN will be opening a facility situated within TAI's campus. It is reported that TRMotor too is establishing a facility there. The construction work on HAVELSAN's facility has begun.

TF-X will be able to autonomously return to base in case the pilot faints.
Probably the fainting detection feature is related to the green sections on the top of the ASELSAN HMD and I think these parts are fiber optics that monitor the cognitive health of the pilot, just like in the Tempest concept.

They could also be tracking markers. I recall reading that Aselsan's HICM will use a mix of inertial and optical tracking methods to determine where the pilot is facing. There's no need for the hardware you mentioned to be visible from helmet's exterior. There will probably be a camera for eye tracking and pupillometry like with Tempest, and some electrode-based EEG and ECG solutions.

On a side note, I often wonder if we're going too far with these touch screens and virtual cockpits. Modern cars are doing this too, and I hate it. Personally, I'd much rather have predictable buttons for muscle memory. Take for example those older ATMs that work similarly to 4th gen fighter MFDs, I can operate those much faster than the newer touch screen ones. It remains to be seen how pilots will operate these newer avionics under high-stress situations.

As for Tempest's "full virtual cockpit", if BAE is able to pull this off, they should probably enter the far more lucrative consumer electronics market. Apple, Meta, Google, Microsoft and Valve would be clamoring for halfway decent AR haptics! /s

I don't know if it's right place to tell but Mr. Temel Kotil said that "We will build our own civilian airliners in the future after TFX". (Like Airbus and Boeing). He also added that "Our aim is Top 10 in the list of defence and aviation companies of the world 🌍 and without civilian airliners it's very hard. We already have all we need but first MMU because it's not only a fighter but more than that."

Honestly, I don't like this AR cockpit concept either, but what I wanted to tell you was the cognitive feedback function of the Tempest cockpit shown on the left side of the photo. Also, ever since I first saw the HMD, I suspected that the green areas on the helmet were health monitoring, like smartwatches, and that the aircraft had detected the pilot fainting.

I think AR has great potential, but it needs much more refinement. Looking at industrial applications are impressive but it's still not at a level to be used in high stress combat scenarios. BAE still has many years to refine the design. In the end, they might decide on a hybrid design with a traditional cockpit supported with AR elements.

Not sure if anyone has shared this publicly available information before: this is TF-X's Large Area Display (LAD-208), designed by STG Engineering in Ankara. At 20" by 8", it is identical in size to L3 Harris' Panoramic Cockpit Display (PCD DU). However, it is a more conventional resistive touchscreen (works with gloves, unlike capacitive screens) instead of the IR solution used by the PCD DU (also works with gloves). The TF-X can certainly support a larger display in future blocks, the F-35 seems to be stuck with the form-fit 20" by 8" form-factor. I don't know the prevalence of resistive touch screens in cockpit avionics, but it's likely more common than L3 Harris' solution.
