Yes he is, meaning simulator flight made him ready to fly Kaan very well.

My point is Kaan pilots should be fast tracked to Kaan skipping traditional lengthy training. With the Kaan smarts a healthy / fit individual can be trained to fly Kaan in a much shorter time than it usually takes for an F16 fighter. Pilot shortage shouldn't make a bottleneck ever again. Should be like driving a self driving car.

Kaan is not self driving though, not yet, and perhaps not ever. And self driving cars are still not completely self driving and have caused plenty of accidents when people stopped paying attention.

It is beyond illogical to take one veteran pilot's works about how easy it was for HIM and turn it into "we don't need to train pilots properly to fly Kaan". Anyone who gets to fly it should take all the necessary steps of training beforehand and that'll still involved turboprop training, to jet trainer to simulator before tandem flights.

Of course, simulators speed up those processes and make them cheaper.

if it was a short path to a pilot you can deploy many more in many locations
We need Somalian, Libyan and other nations' pilots to fly them in an affordable timeframe, similar to UAV pilots. We don't need pilots who know everthing but want to retire to be a passenger plane pilot. We have 18000 of passenger plane pilots by the way.

These are the technical specifications of the KAAN with American engines.
The TF-35000 is significantly more powerful.

I believe that with Saudi Arabia’s participation, the project would progress much faster and the risks would be reduced to a minimum. I hope Saudi Arabia joins the project.

Although Saudi Arabia joining the project would be a net positive, at least on the financial side, there is nothing that can truly fasten the project. If money alone solved everything, any rich country would already possess top notch technologies today.

Saudi Arabia’s participation would likely affect a different aspect instead. It may improve the chances of securing F110 engines for Block 10 and Block 20 aircraft, allowing Turkey to start building a KAAN fleet without waiting for the domestic engine to mature.

Anyone claiming that TF35K will be ready around the announced timeline is being overly optimistic.

TF35K entered CDR very recently, which only means the design has been frozen. From this stage, completing development, testing, and certification realistically takes at least eight to nine years for an engine in this class. Even if everything goes well, the earliest TF35K could appear on KAAN would be around 2035.

For this reason, I do not expect KAAN with TF35K to be fully mature before 2040. Until then, the emphasis will likely remain on Block 10 and Block 20 aircraft powered by F110 engines, with the domestic engine introduced gradually once it reaches full maturity.

I would say it is more than likely to have Saudi Arabia on board with Kaan. We should sign up more and more potential users so that they don't get distracted by the competition.
