@Willy_Egy
I will start the analysis by talking about the Chinese radar H-200 & its integration with SA-2. Officially, this is the 1st time to see the engagement of SA-2, while it’s guided by the "H-200" in "Sky Protectors-1" video which released by the Egypt MoD
Based on the video, I thought at the beginning it’s theRussian “5N63” radar for engagement & FC. H-200 is similar to the“5N63” because it’s derivative from it, it was hard to notice the difference from the video, also there was no official announcement from the Egypt AD about H-200.
@hazem012397 shared with me a link for the “Egyptian AD" magazine, publishing photos for the "H-200" radar in military inspection, but without any information about the radar. The photos were close and clear enough, to say that the radar in the video is the "H-200" radar.
If you think about it, it will be logical that the Egypt AD will have the China H-200 radar not the Russian “5N63”. Quoting from
@MihajlovicMike: “As Russian is not using S-75 for a long time, except for targets, it is not likely that they have done any integration of 5N63 and S-75”
HQ-2 (The Chinese version of SA-2) has been China's primary air defense system till 2016, and it was integrated the with "H-200" radar.
"H-200” radar was also known to be used in Chinese HQ-9/10. It’s really amazing to see such radar integration with SA-2 in the Egyptian air defense, quoting from
@MihajlovicMike regarding the integration:
“That is interesting approach. We had S-75 but those were just standard one. On the other hand, that system is very adaptable. Modifications can extend the range.”
The 2nd video for "Sky Protectors-1" drill was for short & medium range Air Defense engagements using the following: 1- Crotale
2- MIM-72A/M48 Chaparral
3- Oerlikon GDF "35 mm twin cannon"
4- Modified 9K32 Strela-2 (Al dabe'e Alaswad)
5- SA-2.
6- SA-3, S-125 Pechora 2M
Crotale battalion and 1 Crotale Acquisition Radar "TRS 3207"
Battalion of MIM-72A/M48 Chaparral and 1 AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel radar. Sentinel radar integrated with Chaparral.
Battalion of Oerlikon GDF "35 mm twin cannon", with 1 Skyguard Fire-Control Radar System, in ground engagement.
Battalion of modified 9K32 Strela-2 (Al dabe'e Alaswad) - Egyptian modification.
SA-2 battalion with “H-200” radar. You could see the "H-200" replacing the old Fan Song radar for Egyptian "SA-2" battery, also you could notice the absence of directional & altitude antennas, which usually being essential components in the SA-2 battery.
SA-3 battalion with SNR-125 (Low Blow) fire control radar.
