The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas strongly condemned Morocco’s “security, intelligence and military cooperation agreement” with the Israeli regime.

“The announcement of a compromise between Morocco and the occupation regime is tantamount to a new defeat for the Arab establishment [régional] fragile, ”Hamas said in a statement on Saturday.

Rabat and Tel Aviv signed the agreement Wednesday during a ceremony attended by Israeli Minister of Military Affairs Benny Gantz and Moroccan Minister of Defense Abdellatif Loudiyi in Rabat.

Morocco normalized its relations with the Israeli regime under a deal brokered by the United States last year, following in the footsteps of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan.

“The approach of the regime which directs Morocco towards the normalization of its relations with the Israeli regime amounts to a betrayal of Islamic and Arab principles and a retreat from the question of Palestine,” the Hamas statement said.
Tel Aviv, the movement said, would use the examples of compromise to step up its accusatory policies against the Palestinian nation.

All other Palestinian groups also lambasted the normalization frenzy, calling it a stab in the back of the Palestinian cause of liberation from Israeli occupation and aggression.
