Here is Göktaş's letter: Recently, an unbelievable news like "They assigned me to kill Sakine" appeared on some channels on the internet, including Aydınlık newspaper. Let me present the event as follows; I think I gave a speech themed
RESPECT-LOVE in the 13th High Criminal Court in January-February 2010. Sakine Cansız, who was killed in Paris, was mentioned in this speech, but although the incident had nothing to do with Sakine; the event took the name in the press, "They sent me to kill Sakine". However, the best narrative of the event was published in Aydınlık magazine dated June 6, 2010 with the signature of Hikmet Çiçek on May 20, 2011, in Aydınlık newspaper with the signature of Sezim Özadalı.

The event is as follows: In 1995, we infiltrated in Northern Iraq for an operation. And we entered the PKK's Haftanin camp. At the end of the operation, a message came from the radio, a very strong 250-person PKK group under the command of Cemil Bayık and Sakine Cansiz was detected in the Cudi-Ballıkaya region. If Mehmetçik enters, many martyrs and injured would be given. The order was signed by the Public Security Commander and the Special Forces Commander and stated that they want me to enter first. I arrived in Silopi. And I infiltrated the Cudi mountain in the middle of the night. And I arrived at Ballıkaya in the morning. Since it is winter, it is about -40 degrees cold and the surrounding area is full of snow. After identifying the target, I got into the 250 people strong PKK group with my group of 40 people. Very intense contact started. Believe me, the contact was continuing from a distance of 5 meters and the place we entered was very advantageous for the PKK and against us. 10 officers and petty officers were injured at the time of entry and one of our specialist sergeant was martyred in the following time. The other side also suffered many casualties. There was an incredible battle. When it got dark, I retreated and stood in the hills. We took good positions, but we could not get the body of our martyred friend. We did several tries until 01-02 at night. However, we could not get the martyr because the weather was very cold, the ground was slippery, it was very dark, and we were constantly exposed to PKK fire. At midnight, Sakine and the person with the code Şimşek called me on the radio. My radio code was Ozan. I replied, "I'm listening, I'm Ozan." After a lot of talking, they said, "Look Ozan, you're going in and out all the time. You can't take this body, we won't let you do it. But let's get along, let's give the martyr to you. "I said," What do you want? "They said, "Look, the weather is very cold, it is very difficult for you to stay here, you will leave in 1-2 days. We have many martyrs and wounded, and you too. You will leave, passing through the place called Pear Passage, there is a sack under the first tree; canned, If you promise that you will put in health materials such as bread, oxygen, tincture, bandages, we will give you the body. I saw you fighting below, you are a real man. You are a warrior. If you say I put it, we will believe it. I said "How are you going to give me the martyr?" They said, "You will come alone at 09:00 in the morning, you will take him and leave."Although everyone entered the radio and warned me, I said "okay", thinking of the martyr's wife and children. Agreed. I went down in the morning. I looked, his body was perfectly cleaned, he is lying on the ground. With his gun, his ring on his finger, everything is complete. I picked him and put him on my back. I looked around. I just started walking. PKK members on the right and left stood up to greet me, show their respect and I went up. I put the ingredients in Pear Passage and then left. Why did I explain this in court; I said, "One day, when a plane was about to take off in the US, it suddenly stopped. The pilot told the passengers that" our Korean veteran with a Heroic Medal is late, he will be on the plane in 5 minutes, we are waiting for him ". Let me not extend; The veteran came, entered through the door, everyone on the plane stood up and applauded the veteran and offered their respect and love. I said, "I, as a Turkish officer, got into hundreds of hot contacts like other Turkish officers. I received 3 Medals of Heroism; I did not received no respect / love, they were torturing us to kill us in the cell". Even the PKK respected us for our fighting, you do not. This is the case, but this incident was launched as "They sent me to kill Sakine" . Hikmet Çiçek described it very well in her article. In the Turkish Armed Forces, they do not send any officer or non-commissioned officer on a mission that says "Kill the inhabitant, etc." ... You go to the operation. You say "surrender". He surrenders, how good. If not, there will be fight. Eventually there are deaths even though you don't want to. Officers and non-commissioned officers in the Turkish Armed Forces, fight with the morale and morality of Muhammad (PBUH) and Ali (PUBH) . We never fight those who wish for mercy. And believe me, the TSK members are like candles, as you know, they do not give light to their bottom, but they are symbols of sacrifice and renunciation that melt their own existence and illuminate their surroundings. 75 officers and non-commissioned officers and many Mehmetçik became martyrs and veterans in the conflicts I fought. Almost all of them; They fought with the desire to be martyred and to reach the rank of martyrs because they knew and felt that at the time of death, the angels of Mercy would be present with them and be provided ready in the spiritual presence of God Almighty. But always for the defense of the country, for the peace of our nation. For the noble Turkish Flag to fly in the eternity. And believe me, not even one of the soldiers, who was injured and martyred next to me, said "My commander, save me". All; They said, "I will be a martyr," and read the prayer of Ayetul Kürsi. Imagine that you are surrounded on a rainy night and you are fighting in Northern Iraq with a PKK group of 200-300 people. Lightning strikes your petty officer, that's the luck. Rainy weather contact continues. Vision is zero. Your petty officer is stepping on a mine. Vision is zero, there is contact. Your officer is shot in the chest. There is zero visibility, it's raining, there is contact. Your officer is shot in the head. There is zero visibility, it's raining, there is contact. And the helicopter cannot come and take the wounded. Until the morning, your officer-petty officer looks at you with his hand in your hand, his eyes looking at your eyes. You shoot with one hand and hold them with the other. And that Officer-Petty Officer is martyred in front of your eyes and you cannot do anything. I can tell you hundreds of events. This is how the heroic and noble Turkish Officer, Turkish Petty Officer, Turkish Mehmetçik lives in mountains, cities, villages and plains. And believe me when you bury your martyr friends to martyrdom; His wife and children who were behind them say only one sentence, despite all the pain and sorrow, "Long live to the homeland" This is how the Turkish Officer / Petty Officer / Mehmetçik and their families live.

Regards, greetings

NOTE: I think the title of that article should not be “I was sent to kill the inhabitant” but “some respect, a little love”.
