Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra presented Tunisian President Kais Saied with a written greeting from his Algerian counterpart, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at Carthage Palace today, Monday.

During the conversation, Saied emphasized the depth of the strong brotherly bonds between Tunisia and Algeria, recalling the sacrifices of the leaders of the liberation movements in both countries and the instilled ideals of solidarity, synergy, and a united destiny.

He also expressed his clear desire to continue coordinating and consulting with Algeria on bilateral and regional issues in order to improve the two countries' security and stability, as well as to tackle all threats to the area.

Furthermore, Lamamra stated that the region's delicate historical stage, as well as the numerous obstacles it faces, necessitate "further consolidation of constant coordination between Tunisia and Algeria in the service of the common interest of the two brotherly peoples."

At the closing of the meeting, Lamamra divulged that the President left him with insightful ideas, precise information, and essential analysis that he intends to share with the Algerian President upon arriving in Algeria.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Tunisian people for standing with the Algerian people in light of the recent firest that swept the country.
The Algerian Foreign Minister declared that "fraternal visits will be repeated and renewed," to develop and enhance relations between Tunisia and Algeria.
Early August, the Algerian Presidency released a statement detailing a phone call with Tunisian President Kais Saied checking in on the President and the brotherly Tunisian people.

Last month during the Covid-19 crisis facing the country, Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune assured Kais Saied that Algeria would send a quarter-million vaccines to aid Tunisia and emphasized that they would not abandon Tunisia during its difficult time.
