Have we discussed this in any thread, I looked a bit but I couldn't find it? The reflex of SoloTurk's pilot is almost superhuman. At that angle and proximity, with the flight control computer malfunctioning, it was a great skill to prevent the accident. Aircraft narrowly saved from crashing in the middle of the crowd. Yesterday was a day of strange and disgusting events. Fortunately, there was no more tragedy in this strange day. I really wonder what the investigations will reveal.

F-16B30 used by Solotürk are old aircraft we've been using for close to 35 years now. And Solotürk is out there, flying for the crowds every day, so I don't really think this would be a case of maintenance gone wrong. Air force needs to look at the squadron, its structure and maybe enact come changes to how the shows are planned and flown.

In early August, I watched live, Typhoon performing even lower manoeuvres. But it was at least 100m away from the crowd and on sea. Few years ago a plane in UK crashed in to ground killing people on the ground as it was performing a loop. Since then very strict rules have been placed in air shows.

Turkish Block 30 planes have undergone constructional upgrades to extend their life. They are the most manoeuvrable and agile f16s there are.

It does look like the pilot took few risks during flight. That should not have happened.

Nope.

Contract negotiations.
The reason why the contract hasn't been signed yet is kind of complicated, Turkey wants to build the new Vipers domestically and also modernize the current ones domestically, it also wants to build F16 engines domestically too, which is why the deal has not been made.

I doubt that USA will allow anything to be domestically build in Turkey if CAATSA is not lifted, which we go back to our original issue, S400. USA wants those to either be sent to Ukraine or stored in American side of Incirlik Air Base, which Turkey won't allow due to complicated relations with Russia, we need their Gas and we are currently tied to them in Nuclear Energy.
