“At Teknofest (* must be a solo air show during the organization) in Cyprus, the F4 aircraft narrowly escaped (*escapes) the disaster. The accident was prevented with a very skillful maneuver...”

Sure, pilot displayed his experience and skills as a seasoned aviator, but you cannot ignore the powerful thrust ran through those good ole J79 engines, either. This moment proves Jeremy Clarkson right one more time as he constantly claimed over the years, raw power and performance of an engine is crucial.

I think from this angle, that maneuver looks less dangerous, but still a close call.

Just for clarifying. Turkeye had a local modernization program for F-16 Block 30 and 40 and that is more than 130 plane I gues. So how long will the program take to be completed? And how good is this modernization?

To be clear if the Typhoon are ordered and few even arrived don't be surprised if the contract is blocked and even the parts stopped being shipped in case Turkeye was pushed to do any big operation against terrorist groups even if not a single civilians died.

F-16 block 70 has AESA radar and it definitely has Recce pod, just not old DB-110.

I think we can say now that TurAF will get Eurofighters for sure insaAllah.

Germany’s new Chancellor Friedrich Merz, during his first visit to the European Union (EU) in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, met with European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

"TURKEY IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO US!"
In a statement following the meetings, Merz also addressed relations with Turkey, saying: "Turkey is an extremely important NATO partner for us. I will do everything I can to maintain and further strengthen Turkey-NATO relations. I will accept President Erdoğan's invitation to visit him in the near future."

Just spending time for nothing while israel bombing syria non stop and there are news that aslo some turkish staff were bombed dur8ng those raids and Turkiye cant do nothing agaist tiny fake terror country israel , better to look at someone else and make our airforce the largest and modern in world . And stop licking US and EU assholes . The solution is to talk to China to buy more than 250 J35 steath fighter and build them in home with Turkish systems , and Aesa radars . Aslo modernise all 240 f16 in home . With around 500 fighter jets with AESA we can easy go in syria and protect ourselfs and allies . There arw no more humiliation than to get bombed by israel and do nothing . Since 10 years licking ZIONISM ass to buy some overrrated non steath aircrafts that will be controlled throw spare parts or Software from main producer in Eu or US . 😡😡

Strange statement, as if we are not a member of NATO.
What relations?
Yes, but it shows their mentality, so we should get what we can without promising anything.

Tbh, I don't think they'll give anything. Not even the jets

Looks like turkish media just did a bad job translating it.
Here is the original german quote:
"Deswegen ist die Türkei für uns ein extrem wertvoller, wichtiger Nato-Partner und ich werde viel und alles tun, was ich kann, um diese Partnerschaft innerhalb der Nato mit der Türkei auch aufrechtzuerhalten und auch weiter auszubauen."

Ok here is a german source for the news. I should have posted this instead my previous post.

Merz: Turkey is an "extremely valuable, important NATO partner"

Turkey is waiting for the green light from Germany to receive fighter jets. Friedrich Merz is not giving it yet he still sends clear words toward Ankara.

The new German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, is relying on close cooperation with Turkey on defense matters. He and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte share “the firm will to continue to closely bind Turkey, as a major NATO member country, to us,” said the CDU politician during his inaugural visit to NATO in Brussels.

Turkey protects an area within NATO territory whose strategic importance “cannot be overstated,” Merz continued during a joint press conference with Rutte. “That’s why Turkey is an extremely valuable, important NATO partner for us, and I will do much and everything I can to maintain and further develop this partnership with Turkey within NATO.”

Friedrich Merz wants to accept Erdoğan's invitation

Merz also said he intends to accept an invitation from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the near future. Whether fighter jets will be approved for delivery to Turkey is still a decision the German government must make.

Turkey wants 40 Eurofighter jets. Since Germany is part of the European joint project, the fighter jets cannot be exported without the German government’s approval.
