the moment Turkey get in touch with India , any Turkish plan to obtain nuclear weapon technology will go to zero
We are selling 4 replenishment/refueling ships to India. We have sold 30% of one of our small military drone companies to Indians. I don't think we need to outsource our weapons development.

I never heard of that . what happened ?

At the height of souring Turkish-Saudi relations (you know when they butchered Kashoggi in Istanbul) many Arab countries implemented, never officially communicated sanctions against Turkey. Morocco at the time put pressure on Turkish companies too, i.e. threatened BIM to be closed down.

Turkiye-India-Pakistan is bit like Turkiye-Russia-Ukraine

TURKIYE had far more cooperation with Ukraine/Pakistan so Turkiye have to consider that.

in defence product we have to help the weak side much while we wish good relationship with Russia/India

I understand that for sure.

Inertia and legacy, its not so easy to switch.

I mean this is why in the end (among the powerful nations) we buy 0 from China for defence.

Yet we buy considerably from US now compared to cold war.

In fact in the cold war (and even post cold war), it was the US that actively armed, aided and built up defence institutions/training for Pakistan....and during Nixon admin took this to a whole new level (of working against India's basic security interests) when war broke out.

That is part of reason for India's continued geopolitical relationship with Russia (and USSR before it).

US has done far more (in building up Pakistan's defence capability and hard power that all has legacy today, even if their relationship has soured between them) than Turkey has done.

Yet over time we improved relationship with US regardless, though there is of course caution from the memory of before.

In any case, though I am actively interested in studying defence, history and geoplitics etc..... I am more interested in day to day people to people relationships (and things like economics, trade, commerce etc). That is the bedrock that adds changes over longer period of time, as people understand more about other people and misunderstand less.

With Turkey, I understand very much its (establishment) geopolitics choices in South Asia over time....and it has been explained quite well to me by Turkish friends.

Speaking of my Turkish friends (I have a network of them in various ways today...near and far), that is one thing I appreciate a lot about Turks in general is the nature of the Turk. I can very quickly determine if a Turk is my friend or not (they make this very easy to determine, topics like Ataturk make it quite easy)....there is not much funny business I see with many other types of people. I have not been backstabbed by a Turk, and doubt I ever will be.

Turkey has all the knowhow and industrial capacity already to make the first levels of nuclear weapons.

It is a political decision, geopolitical timing and weathering of consequences that are the biggest factors.

There are several countries in similar position to Turkey.

I dont know where you get your information from but you are incorrect. As far as i know, the only matter that was mentioned in the media was speculations that morocco have joined a un official boycott on turkish import. The FTA between the 2 parts have been reviewes multiple times, and morocco have hinted the possibility of leaving the agreement since 2009-2010 period. You can see that complains have been made from morocco multiple times in the last 12 years. A new deal have been taken place since this year in may, and tarifs are rised to 90% in the next 5 years. Morocco never joined the boycott by the gulf countries , so please dont put morocco in the same bracket as those countries.

im sorry that this post have been posted on this part of the thread, but i had to rebuke this false claims.

Also India is a very big and strong country.

that is Indian to choose what to buy ,not the seller decide sell what to India.

Even US cant sanction India for buying russian weapon.in this term,India has one of the strongest position in the World

We see the same story with Ukraine. Turkiye looks for its interests and they get triggered. How ridiculous man.

As if when we do it triggers people.

Kashmir is not our problem I wouldn't care less about kashmir.

Kashmir would not be such a problem if Pakistan did not lose the place. Not our fault if certain countries lose lands to their enemies.

Kashmir was once ruled by Muslim Turkic rulers. But there is no trace at all as the Turks who settled there have all been asimilated into the wider society.

Kashmir is an issue between India and Pakistan along with China. We have nothing to gain there.

My impression of Kashmiris is that most of them don't want either India or Pakistan dictating their fate but to be their own independent state like Bangladesh.
Our relations shouldnt be held hostage whatsoever to any nation.

This goes for Pakistan, Azerbaijan and Palestine.

These guys abused our relations while they were looking out for their interests they constantly played their dumb cards against us while us Turks constantly naively believed in their bs.

No more this shit should stop.
Bruh, dafuq did we do to you? You guys sold us out to the Soviet Union in 1920 after promising you'd have our backs while we've literally never double-crossed you. It's forgiven now but it did happen and some older Azerbaijanis still hold a grudge against Turkey over it.

I know i regret that happening in our history we did not have any capabilities to defend Azerbaijan as were on our last legs. We could not afford to fight the reds in our independance war.

OK lets get back on topic now guys.

Partitions all have their legacies....be it how it happened in Ottoman empire or British Raj.

Foreigners inevitably do not know much about the deep enough context to Kashmir et al.....just like with Kurds et al.

It is generally topic best left to the immediate parties involved....folks (and those close to them) that invested blood, lives and much pain into it....because these are very long painful chapters involved.

I will say this though, trust is very hard to build (and might indeed be the hardest thing to build)....and very easy to break (and quite possibly the easiest thing of all to break too).

For several months (years actually) DEFSECA and other Bangladeshi defence pages are claiming that our navy is interested/negotiating for turkish naval warship types like frigates, corvettes,LPC etc.But very little has come to reality so far.

I have also seen many turkish brothers in this forum say that we are interested in Turkish frigates. Now my question is that are we really into Turkish naval warships? If so then is their any chance for turkish frigate and corvettes in our navy?

It would be very helpful for defence enthusiasts like me if any member can provide info regarding this matter.

Morocco has decided to add two military attachés to its diplomatic missions in New Delhi and Ankara. This Wednesday, at a Council of Ministers meeting chaired by King Mohammed VI, Rabat confirmed the decision, adopting a draft decree that complements the existing legislation on military attaché posts, adding this post to the Moroccan embassies in Turkey and India. Hope to see some cooperation when it comes to getting TOT! Morocco is aiming to build a local military industry, and turkey is the perfect partner. Morocco needs to fill a huge gap in its modernization plan when it comes to navy, land, and air forces.

Navy: Frigates/ Corvettes/ FAC.
Land: IFV/armored vehicles/ Light tank
Air: Perhaps drones

Turkey has the expertise, and the will to export with TOT. Hope turkey can get a good slice of the cake when it comes to exporting to morocco in the next years.

Anadolu Shipyard inks deal for landing crafts for African country

219344.jpg

Anadolu Shipyard has signed a contract with a yet undisclosed African country for the supply of two landing ships, according to a statement by the shipyard on Tuesday.

The shipyard, announcing the development through its official social media accounts said the ships developed and designed by Anadolu Shipyard are in demand by many countries.

“This time the shipyard has signed 2 more Landing Craft contracts with an African country. The ships will be delivered within 2 years,” the statement read.

Most recently in a ceremony held at the beginning of July, Anadolu Shipyard delivered the landing ship orders of Qatar's navy.

Within the scope of the order, four landing ships in total, including one Fast Amphibious Ship, two Mechanized Landing Ships and one Vehicle and Personnel Landing Ship were delivered.

The ships, which were built over a 22-month period, are set to sail to Qatar after six weeks of personnel training.

Previously, Qatar had ordered two offshore patrol vessels from Anadolu Shipyard. Within the scope of the order, the Al Doha and Al Shamal ships were built in 36 months and successfully delivered to the Qatari Emiri Navy.
