Elon musk has no history in aircraft business or anything? He does not know anything about avionics nor jets flawed argument
Do you know that industry is called aerospace industry? Do you know that he runs a company in that industry which means that he has very good understanding what is coming next with respect to aerodynics and automation?
Anyway, it does not matter if F35 is better than MUIS at this point. What matters is that we will have an air-force developed by ourselves which will render 4th gen air-forces within 5-10year and 5th gen air-forces with in 10-15y obsolete for some critical missions.
The reason are very simple.
* There is nothing which prevent drone to have all sensors, agility or the physical shape (for stealth) as a manned fighter have while the opposite is not true.
* Computer react faster, monitor the environment better or communicate faster than any human can. A human can see 20km while a camera can see 100km in a wider range of the spectrum.
* A drone is cheaper so you can have numerical superiority, maybe up to a factor 20x for simpler drones which is a huge strategic advantage when you can mix high and low capability drones in the same theater. A fast and high performance drone can detect the enemy while the cheap stealth drone can carry the missile at longer ranges. This also means that you can cover a much larger area, again a strategic advantage.
* Drones are smaller and potentially slower which make them harder to detect, which means drones will shoot first. (so your 30ton for F35 it not an advantage in reality).
* No humans means that drones can take more dangerous roles which again is a very big strategic benefit.
People have a problem with you since you refuse to see the future and therefor your posts comes as we should not be dealing with drones.
People are simply sick of this mentality, specially when you call everyone which do not agree with as AKP/Baykar trolls.
Note, I dont say that F35 will be totally useless in 15y but a lot of the roles of the F35 will taken over by drones. Similarly, tanks are not obsolete but current gen drones have taken over some of the roll of tanks. This means you can have fewer fighter/tanks and replace the differance with more numerous and advanced drones.
Simply put, the near future will see a mix of manned and unmanned platforms to optimize the capabilities of the armed forces.
