At least it has 2 way datalink and SATCOM. But I still don't get why they are using 2 way dlink if it lacks an EO ?6+ hours of loitering (Harpy 2h, Harop 9h)and high level of local components from propeller to booster rocket. A special product for start. E/O loaded versions must be on the way.
Harop was also developed from the Harpy, we have the base now to develop it into something similar.Yes but at the start it should've been with EO. With EO it can do both missions. And we saw what Harop's did in Karabakh, they were very useful to destroy radars and other vehicles. Kargı will stick to a single mission now.
There are plenty of small solutions already in Turkey. This is not a weapon for that purpose. This is a long range strike weapon designed to take out high value targets.Smaller variant, quadpacked or loadable on sungur launcher would be good. Our troops needs small and smart solutions to increase their firepower on missions.
It is not a harpy clone it has 6+ hours of loitering time with at least 900km+(150km/h*6) range. The exact endurance and range weren't disclosed due to operational reasons but we know from the TEI director Prof. Akşit that it has the range to go to London. Sandbagging is real with this product. Its passive RF seeker has a broader frequency range and longer acquisition distance. It has a SATCOM and a bidirectional data link. This is the SEAD/DEAD version of Kargı. This will only be used against air-defense systems. Development continues on an EO version. EO version won't have an RF seeker, SATCOM will probably be optional.I am very disappointed.
We have waited for years and they are showing us a Harpy clone. Why no EO ? They had the capability to do that.
Well everyone knows that loitering munitions with MITL capabilities were highly efficient in the last wars. We should've gone with EO as standart equipment. Türkiye's SIGINT capability is already at a good level, I don't think UAV would need special equipment for radar finding/homing. EO is more versatile in terms of missions flexibility. It is not a harpy clone it has 6+ hours of loitering time with at least 900km+(150km/h*6) range. How much of a chance Kargi would have against a good air defense system like the Patriot? I wonder if there is something in the way such a UAV loiters and attacks that makes it hard to detect or shoot down. Or maybe the air defense might find it hard to deal wit saturation with swarms of these. It is not a harpy clone it has 6+ hours of loitering time with at least 900km+(150km/h*6) range.
