My mistake about MTOW of TB3. As you say it is 1450kg. But the plane is under 1200kg when empty as it will have a payload capacity of 280kg.
During landing it will most likely have dispensed with a good deal of it’s fuel as well as most of it’s payload. It is a common practice to jettison heavier hung bombs before carrier landing as it can cause problems, both for safety of the ship and structural health of the UAV.
For taking off, the engine plus ski lift and the wings should give enough lift. That is why TEI was developing a specific engine for it.
It is the available landing strip that is a problem. It has to stop before the ski lift. When you take out the length of the recess at the back together with the lift area, you end up with a very short landing strip. You do not want 1.2 tons hitting the lift at speed. So it has to be well clear of it.
The total length of this ship from the very end to the tip of the ski lift is 232metres. Take out the recess, lift area and ski lift; You haven’t got much of a landing strip.
As for Hurjet and KE, I would forget landing altogether if without hook and arresting wires .

So this is the real model after all.A miniaturized model of ANKA-3 unmanned warplane developed by TAI was flown, and the larger model will be revealed in the coming months.
- The flight will take place in March or April.
- It will be able to accompany TF-X, HÜRJET and other air platforms.
I hereby announce you as a master agentTell me you remember the legend. You didn't forget, did you?
Where are those who didn't believe me when I said this?
So @Nutuk was right.A miniaturized model of ANKA-3 unmanned warplane developed by TAI was flown, and the larger model will be revealed in the coming months.

It comes with a homegrown engine tooIt could easily become 200+ km kamikaze drone
Also local EO system, engine is only 16hp which means super cheap to make it. Turkey should consider itIt comes with a homegrown engine too![]()
It cannot probably be by design. A vtol plane has to carry its weight by its electric motors during hover. It will most likely be used for survaillance purposes. It could easily become 200+ km kamikaze drone
Official number is it has 5kg more payload capacity, which means i actually able to do it.. plus once its kamikaze drone, you can put less capable EO systems tooIt cannot probably be by design. A kamikaze drone has its warhead and specific amount of fuel to stay on air for a long time which constraints it howering by electric motors further. Also it will require an increase in battery capacity which is not as high energy dense as gasoline.
It can't do it with a 5 kg payload. It could easily become 200+ km kamikaze drone
I know, but if we take out 150km communication devices and put cheap eo, gps, ins. It can do the job in case of war.It has much more than being a kamikaze. Laser designator for TRLG series missiles.
That's more than loyal wingman. A standalone air superiority fighter but also works as loyal wingman of TFX.Guys , do you think that the KizilElma might be exported when completed ? i think that it can serve as a loyal wingman to various fighter jets like the F-16V or the F-15EX
it would play a good role in missions like SEAD and DEAD , instead of using the F-16 or the TAI TF-X , a KizilElma with a bunch of SOM-J cruise missiles would play a critical role in suppressing any air defense .That's more than loyal wingman.
