Tb3 is carrier based drone , why countries without lhd/carrier would buy tb3 and not Anka ? Or they like its folded wings 🥰
The proliferation of navalized fixed-wing tactical armed drones could have a much more significant and fast impact on the world's navies than we think. It is incomparably more cost-effective to operate and the platform base needed is lower, but more importantly, it has a lower threshold of difficulty than navies' manned fixed wing air operations.

Even if we only look at the navy, many logical arguments can be made. But I think one detail should not be overlooked: The fact that the TB-3 system is basically an operational capability suitable for LHD ships does not make it any less attractive for other force structures. On the contrary, it has very unique advantages. First and foremost, the system is based on the TB-2, which has an extraordinary number of flight hours and has seen countless wars, and is located between the Akıncı and tactical blocks in terms of class. A reliable and battle-proven product family. In addition, it probably represents the pinnacle of the entire product family in terms of composite structures, extra corrosion resistance, reinforced undercarriage, increased lift capacity, newer and more advanced avionics, extra STOL landing and take-off capability, foldable wing structure, and a subsystem ecosystem including the engine, all of which can be procured independently from the western system.

I don't know if the UAE is interested in this system, but I think it is remarkable that only UAE munitions are included in the infographic. It is also possible that UAE ammunition manufacturers have entered Baykar's ecosystem for sales to third countries.

How many months before we see Emirati munitions on Ethiopian TB2, Akıncı and Chinese ones?
Somaliland's declaration of independence and Ethiopia's subsequent recognition of this decision could very quickly escalate military tensions in East Africa into a regional war. It is not out of the realm of possibility that military aircrafts built by Turkish engineers will fly over soldiers trained by Turkish officers. Therefore, I wonder the answer to the same question. Without full foreign policy alignment with the UAE, military-industrial cooperation may involve too many uncertainties for the future.

Yup. Our hand was burnt once re Emirati connection. Turkish munitions on Emirati aircraft were used against us.

And I fear we will have worse problems as well. Will Baykar employees still be in Addis Ababa under their contract giving support to Ethiopian AF while it's striking Somali positions? Too big a can of worms, this.

Am I the only one is who is disappointed by the absence of Kuzgun series?
I was betting big on Kuzgun TJ onboard TB-3 with 150km stand off range.

TB3 at UMEX: Air-to-Ground Attack and Air-to-Air Defence Marine UCAV

Baykar has revealed the munitions to be integrated on Bayraktar TB3 marine UCAV. The new set of ammunition brings air defence capacity to the marine UCAV.

Baykar presented its TB3 UCAV at UMEX 2024, and X user @al_lure shared a photo of the brochure showing the unmanned system's munitions. Bayraktar TB3 will use a diverse range of air-to-surface and air-to-air munitions developed by ROKETSAN, TÜBİTAK SAGE, ASELSAN, EDGE Group and Baykar.
ROKETSAN’s munitions include the MAM family of smart munitions and SUNGUR air defence missiles in a single pod configuration. While the MAM family is expected, SUNGUR is an extraordinary option for the UCAV.
A deal was signed to integrate SUNGUR missiles on AKINCI and Bayraktar TB2 UAVs in the SAHA EXPO 2022 exhibition. UCAVs armed with short-range air defence missiles can conduct small-scale air patrols for long durations if they can be networked to ground radars such as KALKAN-II and ERALP. With the target profile of missiles like SUNGUR in mind, this can be employed against helicopters and medium to large-sized UAVs.

ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK SAGE’s TOLUN small-diameter bomb is the heaviest of all options, weighing 135 kg. Two TOLUN bombs are only 10 kg below Bayraktar TB3’s maximum payload capacity of 280 kg. Due to TOLUN’s concrete-piercing capabilities, it might be considered an option to strike hardened targets.

BOZOK is a small-sized munition developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE, sitting between MAM-C and MAM-L munitions in terms of weight. The munition features a hybrid warhead with armour-piercing and fragmentation effects.

EDGE Group will integrate its DESERT STING 16 and DESERT STING 25 gliding munitions on Bayraktar TB3 with the option of dual racks. DESERT STING 16 was test-fired from Bayraktar TB2 UCAV earlier this month.

Baykar’s KEMANKEŞ jet-powered loitering munition will also be used on Bayraktar TB3. KEMANKEŞ’s maximum range of 200 km can provide Bayraktar TB3 stand-off attack capabilities, especially on soft targets like radars and missile launchers. Another use can be counted as remote reconnaissance thanks to the onboard gimbal electro-optical system of KEMANKEŞ.

The Bayraktar TB3 UCAV is designed for marine operations with its capacity to take off and land on a short runway flight deck.

STING project will be a big faillure project, how many will UAE able to produce? Ambitious but it comes with a price, they do not have industry to provide all that parts for ther weapons. They will buy it from foreigner countries, i do not see a bright future for that.

You think Roketsan had all the parts when they started producing MAM series?

Maybe not everything but at least the half of the missile, beside that we have delivered more then 20000 MAM bombs maybe more. Used in different conflicts and still using.
