It is an interesting concept though, TB2 is so slow that this could probably catch up to it using turbojet propulsion.

Iran used a similar type missile in Yemen that shot down a Saudi drone.
There is no doubt about the effectiveness of said kamikaze drones, but the funny part is that they particularly chose a TB-2 drone with Turkish AF insignia in the animation which shows that they haven't got over the humiliation they caused Russian equipment in Karabagh, not to mention Libya and Syria as well.

Hit a drone with a drone is really difficult, it is a cheap solution but will it work?

Any sources on this? I bet if Iran actually used the missile in Yemen they would also post the launch scene and show the exact missile being launched. Come on, we know those guys.
The only evidence is a missile shown travelling relatively slow, compared to other well known AA missiles, in a video. In the posted video drone could be assumed to loiter around 50-70 m/s which means the missile is still a lot faster so it could be a MANPADS at the end of the burnt stage, could be a MANPADS from decades ago, such as QW-1 with a maximum speed of 600 m/s. Should i even mention the surplus of old Chinese weapons in black market?

Conceptually sounds nice; practically i don't know.
Moreover it runs on an IIR seeker as claimed by them, and flies around for a long duration, long range again as interpreted by some experts: but also hasn't got heat isolator cap-fairing and seems to be missing a cooler which makes me wonder its seeker performance after it has flied for a few minutes looking for a tiny drone.

It has got Serial number of 66 in the picture yet still no foldable wings.. another "thing".

Meanwhile, i also agree jet powered subsonic AA missiles will be a lot useful in near future.

What TB2 can do against those drones?

- use laser to blind/fry the sensor
- deploy own mini anti-anti-drone
- fly higher
- mini missiles
- fighter uav escort
- go fast
- more stealth
- swarm with cheap/decoy versions of TB2

- if they become a problem fall back/backup the ops with long range GMTI/SAR sensors with stand-off weapon mix & use low earth orbit satellite realtime observation

There's no need to get so lost in the details. The simplest solution is to maintain superiority in electronic warfare. After that, it's easy. There is no need to rediscover the American continent when such a simple solution is ahead of us. The Russians don't use very advanced technology.

I agree, these small loitering munitions wouldn't last an hour with electronic interference. And - proud to say, Turkey does Electronic Warfare really well :)

I thought about adding EW to the list of countermeasures but decided not to do. Russia can make those EW resistant, but yes it can be another method, if it works..

Look at the trends and try to predict the future warfare, the race between different types of drones will escalate and you will have to think about my list sooner or later.

Even if EW or any kind of method works for a while it will stop working once the other side finds a way to stop it. Then you have to find new methods and tactics again, so why limit yourself to EW?

Also I don’t agree with your view of Turkish EW having superiority over Russia.

TAI CEO Temel Kotil said Göksungur will fly after the TF-X in this interview at around 38. minute. This means we should not expect Göksungur to fly before 2025.

Apparently our next fighter plane to behold is the MIUS before Hürjet and TFX.
Akıncı > MIUS > Hürjet > TFX
