Conclusion:

The Censoring of Serials and Hiding of EO of the ANKAs are likely tied together.
Something tells me that some things aren't 100% Legal and in order to avoid telling on themselves they just blurred it.

🇹🇷 TUSAS AKSUNGUR Project Chief Engineer Aytunç Arabacı:
AKSUNGUR has been designed to function even with a single engine. This provides the aircraft with great flight safety.
She can perform 50-hour missions not with an empty plane, but while carrying a camera, satellite communication system and radio.


AKSUNGUR has a range of 8,000km in basic reconnaissance/surveillance (ISR) missions with full fuel.


AKSUNGUR and ANKA UAVs are completely freed from import dependency on engines and cameras.
Now both of them can serve with domestic design and production TEI TEI-PD170 engine and Aselsan CATS camera.

Ukrainian engines for TB2?

Ukraine does not manufacture piston engines. Maybe a new product of JV between Baykar and related Ukrainian companies? It would benefit Baykar to have as much control over their supply chain in the long term. Reason for development success of Baykar drones, have to do with this factor to an extent.

Also why wouldn't TEI jump on the opportunity? Market is luring enough to. TEI seems to be more interested on engines with advanced specs, platform applications. I think TEI could miss a potential bigger market for drones etc., civilian markets if they don't expand out. TEI could form JV subsidiaries with companies like Kale to share workload and other reasons. Kale with KTJ knowledge, now also have capability to develop small turbofan engine family for drones, small aircraft. (E.g. PBS Aerospace). Same for piston engines. There is a lot of small companies that manufacture car engine parts. Let's make a copy of Rotax family. It would actually make it more attractive for export, as user can directly adjust to it. We can offer it with drones for discount exchange of choosing it instead of Rotax.

Ukrainian engines will be used for future TB2s which will be produced in Ukraine. Ukraine doesn't produce aviation internal combustion engines. Ukrainians will probably develop an engine similar to Rotax engines (probably with a little higher output). TEI is second to none when it comes to aviation internal combustion engines.

I really wonder whether Ukraine will provide any sort of ToT to turkey

I don't think so in this specific field. Ukraine has a bunch of things to offer in jet engines and space studies.

I keep hearing reports on the fact that Ukraine is unwilling to share jet engine tech to Turkey

Turbine engines are also internal combustion engines but TEI do not make them for planes.
And Ukrainian firms do not make piston engines currently.
(As opposed to external combustion engines which is basically a Sterling engine)
You are "technically" right. But both in the world and in Türkiye when you say internal combustion engines (ICE) or in Turkish "içten yanmalı motorlar" everyone will understand piston engines even at engineering faculties. Jet engines are specifically referred to as "türbin motorlar/turbine engines".

True. Ukraine has a few cards to play and doesn't want to let them go for cheap but I think Ukraine is starting to overplay its hand.

I wouldn't bother if the term was not used to define capabilities of TEI, like TEI is A leader in all engines internally combusted, LOL.
