Why are they calling it a drone ship? Its a Landing helicopter dock ship

TCG Anadolu was planned on having F35Bs if not at least Harriers.

Since both will not be possible.

The ship has now been converted to take Drones. While also having helicopters.

Warfare is all about adapting to challenges also innovating while you can.

Tcg Anadolu would have gone to waste if it was just for F35s. Concept of a ship carrying drones is actually interesting.

I think it's a brilliant and cost effective concept especially with our expertise in drones and upcoming projects. If it all works out we'll have Anka-3 (less sure about this one obv), TB3 and KE to use with it.

I agree. I need to underline 2 things.

1. Those people which just see and understand what is happening in present (real live) and accept it -> I mean everything is keep changing around us -> Then this people are ready to adapt and overcome obstacles ( threads )

2. Tcg Anadolu plan to use F35 as main force " was and still is " Fail/Loser strategy.
Why?
Because usa Keep showed to Turkiye and also to others which have F35 that without usa approval you can not use F35 by any campaigns related other countries (for example: Azerbaijan, Libya, Qatar etc. ) this include offenses .

Because of above if Tcg Anadolu was relying of F35 platform without control by Turkiye, then it is like no Fighter on Tcg Anadolu ship.
Even I do not want to continue things like Turkiye can not reconfigure/adapt F35 without usa approval too....................

Perhaps such a project may already be ongoing.
Northrop Grumman has been working on a very lightweight torpedo for US Navy that can be used offensively by smaller platforms or defensively by bigger ones. Maybe a similar project?

Multipurpose Amphibious Assault Ship fits the best tbh, the design is pretty much the embodiment of multipurpose now that even mini torpedoes for TB3 and USVs are being considered let alone UCAVs.

Just as we predicted, the TB-3 will be able to stop on the runway without the need for any catch system, but it will not have a chance to pass the runway. The only question I have now is whether there will be a safety net for KE too. In other words, whether it will have the chance to pass the runway in heavy sea conditions or in case of any miscalculation like when the tail hook misses the line. The length of the deck may not be very generous for the landing runway, given the continuity of other operations, i.e. the aircraft will have to touch deck as close as possible to the aft elevator, there may be no more than two catch line which they may also be very close to each other, so the AI must ensure perfect landings in all conditions.

I think it won't be and it will have the same landing procedure as STOBAR aircraft. In other words, three different air operations will take place on the TCG Anadolu deck: STOL(TB-3), STOBAR(KE) and VTOL (rotary wings). The only operation we will not experience on TCG Anadolu will be catapult assisted take off.
