can anyone tell me why the barrel is important ? 😅
Perhaps an evasive maneuver? But why? To do this, the drone would have to use defense systems to detect a threat, e.g. an incoming missile? If so, how does the drone recognize that the missile is about to detonate? This maneuver takes quite a long time if it is used to evade missiles.

Mind you, this is all a question and not a statement, because I don't understand this maneuver in any context, except perhaps as an evasive maneuver.

Edit:
Interesting

What is the purpose of a barrel roll?

The term barrel roll, by itself, most often refers to a helical roll around a straight flightpath, the purpose of which is to slow the relative forward motion (downrange travel) of the aircraft. This can help a defender to force an attacker, who is usually behind the defender, to fly out in front, called overshooting.

This can be helpful in a drone-on-drone fight, I wonder how the system autonomously detects the enemy drone from behind and when it is in weapon range to start this maneuver? It could be that the enemy uses its drone Boardcannon.

So it would have to recognize that the enemy drone is behind you and it would have to autonomously recognize that it is going to shoot, otherwise it makes no sense.

Research to implement the same autonomous maneuvers with Kizilelma?
That’s exactly what I was thinking. They should be getting ready to try manoeuvres with Kizilelma nowadays and best way to start is trying it on TB2s first.

Marketing.

The Gendarmerie General Command was once the advertising face of the Sikorsky S-70. You know. In another way, it was a symbol of the fact that the Turkish armed forces, probably together with the USAF, were the military power that used blackhawks to their end-limits.

The TB-2's barrel roll can be considered a good advertisement, but I think there is one thing that the social media audience is missing: the fact that a tactical drone of that class (and by cost, simplicity, engine power etc.) can perform this evasive maneuver structurally and aerodynamically also shows the engineering perfection of the system. The most well-known and popular system 'in this class of UAVs' in the world is the BAYKAR TB series. Therefore, in order to maintain its pioneering position in this field, BAYKAR will continue to studies on the development of the system against evolving threats.

And yes, the Turks are currently at the forefront of tactical class armed and unarmed drone systems and are among the leading countries that continue to use them to their limits, to develop new doctrines and new approaches.

Bayraktar TB3 Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle successfully took off from the land-based test platform simulating the inclined ramp of TCG ANADOLU LHD Ship.

Bayraktar TB3 Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle, which attempted to take off from the Ramp 4 times in the first Ramp Take-off Test, successfully performed all take-offs.

The special runway, which was built with the same specifications as the conditions on the deck of the TCG Anadolu, has a ramp with a 12-degree inclination.

Do you guys know how windy it is here in Essaouira? Perhaps we’ll see 100 more test in different climate wind level and such before it’ll be ready to take off from Anadolu, be ready @Oublious

Interesting words from Haluk Bayraktar. According to him, Baykar is developing a turbofan engine that will be ready for serial production in 5 years. Some people say he talks about TF-6000 but the schedule is too long for TF-6000.
Wont it be redundant already
Shouldnt he focus his resources in other areas?
TEI is already producing the TEI-TF6000 engine and according to rumors, it is already performing way better than expected

While it may seem redundant to have two jet engine producers/developers, it can also benefit Turkiye through competition i.e. Baykar vs TAI.

Baykar has a ton of money and they need to invest it to increase shareholder value (instead of paying it out to investors as dividends). Fergani Space and now this jet engine venture seems to be good business choices. I am still waiting for Baykar's big push into the civilian domain.

In the civilian Domain there is a need for freight Drones and also business Jets, this is a Field were Baykar can become active.
