anti pirate or security missions you have a helicopter onboard
Helicopters can be shot down easily. A plane expands the reach very much. With satcom or an AI autopilot you can reach thousands of kilometers. There can always be circumstances where you can use extra reach. Anyway, it is an easy capability to have.

By Baykar posts of the last 3 days, after Anadolu's long visit to the shipyard was complete and she sailed again, in the last 3 days TB3 made at least 13 takeoffs from and landings to Anadolu.
Brings the total over 4 days to 17, including the first night time landing. With the closing words of Selçuk, makes me think this round of tests are concluded and Anadolu will be going to Aksaz.

The "payload" Selcuk is speaking off seems to be this sensor. Anyone know what it is?

Thank! The useful EOTS is still missing. I think we can expect a PT-5 with EOTS for weapons tests.

TB3 doesn't need an EOTS like TOYGUN. EOTS is for fast moving aircraft as it's really hard to turn a protruding ball while going 600kmh. TB3 don't have that problem so AF-500 is enough. Anka-3 possibly wouldn't also need it if it wasn't for the low visibility requirements.
