It makes little sense at present to consider a possible TB4 platform as long as the TB3 and TB2T AI are not yet widely available and fully integrated into service.
The priority should initially be to sell off part of the Turkish Armed Forces' older TB2 stock, particularly to friendly countries in Central Asia, Middle East, the Baltic States or Africa.

The proceeds from this could be channelled into the series production of modern systems such as TB3 and TB2T AI, which would ensure operational capability until around 2035.

Only when Baykar, Kale Arge or TEI succeed in developing a compact, fuel-efficient turbofan engine (not a turbojet) with a power range of around 800–1000 lbf by around 2032 will the time have come to seriously consider the TB4 generation.

This is because, from this stage of development onwards, medium sized MALE drones will require turbofan engines in order to achieve the required performance parameters.
From around 2035+ onwards, such systems will not only have to be significantly more agile and faster – with speeds of around 350–400 km/h in patrol mode and up to 700–800 km/h in combat mode – but also achieve endurance times of at least 10–12 hours.
By then, aerial combat against drones will have changed fundamentally, especially as enemy drone defence systems will become increasingly dynamic and much more aggressive then today.

Greek Defense Minister Dendias' statement on Turkish UAVs

Başak Berber October 31, 2025

Nikos Dendias Bayraktar TB2

Speaking at the 4th Economic Forum, Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias announced that the Centauros anti-drone system was specifically designed to counter Turkish-made Bayraktar UAVs. Dendias also shared details about the modernization process of the Hellenic Armed Forces.
Referring to Türkiye's unmanned aerial vehicle capacity, Dendias said:

"According to our information, Türkiye has currently deployed over one million drones. This number is truly impressive.
"If anyone wants to understand what can happen, they only need to look at what happened in Armenia, in Nagorno-Karabakh. There you can see how a war can be lost without even firing a single shot. And we are trying to deal with all of this."

Precautions against Bayraktars

Dendias explained the purpose of the Centauros system as follows:
But I also want to look at the positive side of this situation. Indeed, Turkey has successfully sold Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles to many countries. However, we, as Greece, have centauros, a cutting-edge anti-drone system developed specifically to counter Bayraktar drones.

Greek Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias

Every country to which Türkiye sells these vehicles has a competitor. The competitor of the country to which Türkiye sells can procure the world's best anti-Bayraktar system from us. And, incidentally, we have already received interest from two countries, in addition to Greece, to procure Centauros.

Domestic drone production facilities

The Greek Defense Minister also announced new steps toward the Greek army's drone production capacity. Dendias stated, "We have introduced two mobile drone production facilities that follow our large units. We can increase these. Soon, every Greek military unit will have a mobile factory system capable of producing Greek drones produced using domestic technology."

Bayraktar calls for precautions against TB2 and TB3

Greek Defense Minister Dendias, in a recent statement, stated that precautions should be taken against the Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar TB3 unmanned aerial vehicles.

Dendias used the following expressions in his statement:
"Let me give you a very concrete and present example. How do we deal with a drone swarm? In our case, with the Bayraktar II and Bayraktar III drones. How would we do that economically? Because the simple answer is to launch your missiles at them. We would be bankrupt within a week."

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Dendias has better chances doing stand-up comedy than his current position.

With his "clever" counter-Bayraktar sales pitch strategy, he's doing the best promotion for the Turkish drones with no proof that the systems in question have been tested or their range of success.

That is an impressive pile of bullshit lmfao

Still, must give him some credit for using a sober tone for a change rather than the usual hysterical one.

Yesterday morning, Kızılelma reached a speed of Mach 0.9 in a test.

Video coming soon.

That would be be great, but it's more like ADSB data to be wrong as it usually can be. Let's wait for actual telemetry from Baykar before getting excited. Mach 0.9 is high transonic, It'd be a great achievement for the airframe's sturdiness.
