❗️❗️ PMC "Wagner" retreats from Bakhmut on May 10 due to "shell hunger".

“On May 10, 2023, we are forced to transfer positions to units of the Ministry of Defense,” Prigozhin.

At this rate, there will soon be a military coup in Russia 🔥

There's really nothing special about the kinzhal. Russian air force bad armaments investment choice is becoming very clear now.

If before the war Russia invested in smart bombs, next gen cruise missile and micro munitions instead of limited and hard to built wunderwaffe like Kinzhal. Maybe the Russians will not suffer that much casualties. Imagine all the money to develop the kinzhal diverted instead to develop the UMPK in those years.

i doubt more ammunition is going to change the ultimate result for these Wagner boys.

I wonder if Putin ever imagined his 3 day war would turn into something like this where his boys are screaming and begging in front of dead Russians for more ammo to maintain the fight in bakhmut, if not ultimatums of more Russian retreats.

Makes me wonder how long before another goodwill gesture is given by Russia to Ukraine over bakhmut.

Prizohin is not going to last for long. I have a feeling he is going to jump out of a building with a bullet in the back of his head.

They've had it with him.

As Europe implements its plan to produce 1 million artillery shells for Ukraine over the next year, we're starting to see how that's going to play out. It was announced today that German arms producer Rheinmetall will produce 600,000 of those artillery shells in the coming 12 months.

The remaining 400,000 artillery shells will mostly be produced in France, Czech Republic and Poland. Other European countries with production capacity will chip in as well, especially with Soviet caliber shells.

On top of the 1 million shells expected to be produced by Europe, USA, Britain and Canada, backfilled by South Korea and through 3rd party purchases in places like Pakistan and Morroco, will likely match the European commitment in 2023.

Overall, expect Ukraine to receive roughly 2 million artillery shells in 2023, enough to keep up a 5500 shell per day rate of fire.

The southern regions of Ukraine switched to "readiness" for a counteroffensive

Recall that now the controlled territories of southern Ukraine have switched to the "waiting" mode for changes at the front. We are talking about a three-day "lockdown" that has already been announced in Kherson, a city in the region that is strategically important for the de-occupation of the Crimean peninsula.

So, the residents of Kherson were warned about a protracted curfew: it will last from the evening of May 5 to 06:00 on May 8. As announced in the OVA, during this time people should be at home and not go out into the streets. The city will also be closed to entry and exit.

This another Epic Fail of putin strategy.

Two of main putin generals commanding Fronts on south and east flanks were dismissed/fired by putin.
As of today this Two russian generals becoming part of Wagnar. I think this is a beginning of a coup and putin will be killed soon.

Prigozhin successfully integrated them into Wagner PMC:
Disgraced former Deputy Defence Minister Mizintsev ( at center) and disgraced former Deputy Commander of RosGvardia Gavrilov (at left), who was also FSO personal bodyguard for Putin. These are big names.

To me it looks like for a while that the Russian people are being mentally prepared to accept a defeat. They wont call it a defeat, but the reason they couldn't succeed in Ukraine will be because of incompetent faceless bureaucrats. A way to take pressure of the real losers of this fiasco putin and the entire insider circle including that wagner goblin crying in front of the dead for ammo.

Instead of it being Putin is a grand failure, it will be if only our troops had enough ammo as a minor example of the diversion.

Honestly I'm enjoying these days watching the Russians getting slapped about by a much smaller foe. All the Russian hype has literally been flushed down the shitter. From super power pretenders to an absolute fiasco, all in less then a year.

‘Ukraine shoots down Russian hypersonic missile using US Patriot system’

Wreckage of the rocket, known in Russia as the ‘dagger’, falls on an empty football stadium in Kyiv

ByJoe Barnes5 May 2023 • 2:40pm
The US-provided Patriot missile system could have been used to intercept the missile

Ukraine has intercepted a Russian hypersonic missile for the first time, it has been reported.
Local media reports suggested air-defence units operating the highly-advanced, US-provided Patriot missile system could have been responsible for the unprecedented feat.
Images purportedly showing the fragments of a downed Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missile, which Russia claims can fly at 10 times the speed of sound, were published by the Ukrainian Defence Express outlet.
The wreckage of the missile, known in Russia as the “dagger”, fell on an empty football stadium in Kyiv after a loud explosion was reported in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The bang coincided with a long-range Russian barrage using Iranian-made drones and less sophisticated missiles targeting the Ukrainian capital, according to local administrators, who did not confirm the use of a hypersonic missile.
Pictures of the remains appeared to show a hole in the top of the weapon’s pointed shell, reportedly created by a precision munition, while the rocket was still mid-air.

The Defence Express outlet claimed it had “obviously” been intercepted by a newly-acquired Patriot missile system.
A soldier from the Ukrainian air-defence team responsible for the interception confirmed the Kinzhal had been destroyed by the US-donated system, in a tweet that has since been deleted.

The unit reportedly detected, tracked and downed the missile in its final stages of flight, when it starts to slow down.
Officials from Ukraine’s Air Force refused to comment on the claims.

PATRIOT MISSILE DEFENCE SYSTEM

Before the apparent interception there were no known successful attempts in taking out the hypersonic weapon, which had been dubbed “unstoppable” by the Kremlin.

Russian forces first used the Kinzhal in combat in Ukraine on March 29 last year, when the missile was used to strike a fuel depot.

The missile, which is fired from specially adapted Mig-31 jet fighters, has a claimed range of up 1,900 miles.

According to Russian claims, the missile cannot be downed by any of the West’s most advanced air-defence systems

Until the delivery of Patriot systems to Ukraine, Kyiv’s armed forces said they had no way of intercepting the hypersonic rocket.

tbh, That is huge if it is true. Even though Kinzal is not as manuaverable as HGV, still its depressed trajectory and moderate manuaverablity coupled with its hypersonic speed makes it difficult to shoot down with convenional ABM systems.

Also it speaks for the fact that, how good actually PAC-3 decade old radar is.
(I think lot of people these days makes fuss about PESA and AESA classifications without totally understanding their actual implications on operational level)

And the best operational advantage of this PAC-3 battery for Ukraine in my opinion is, it will allow them for full scale permanent operational activities in airbases within protective baubles without their high value Air assets being at high risk of taken out on the ground by Russian balistic missile strikes.
