The Ukrainian Armed Forces will retreat if the US does not provide the necessary military assistance, - Zelensky

Zelensky said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to find some way not to retreat

If the front remains stable, Zelensky said, Ukraine could arm and train new brigades to launch a new counteroffensive.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Ukrainian forces in dire straits may have to retreat to secure their front lines and conserve ammunition. This will happen if the United States does not provide the necessary military assistance to Ukraine.

In an interview with The Washington Post, he noted that Congress' delay in approving a $60 billion military aid package had cost Ukraine dearly. The military failed to plan for future operations, and lawmakers squabbled for nearly six months.

"If there is no US support, it means we have no air defense, no Patriot missiles, no electronic warfare jamming, no 155mm artillery rounds. This means we will retreat step by step," he said .

Study in Russia of the downed Storm Shadow cruise missile of the Ukrainian army. Footage of an inspection of the insides of a downed Ukrainian cruise missile Storm Shadow or SCALP-EG of Anglo-French production. The Storm Shadow missile was shot down by Russian air defense or intercepted by electronic warfare systems. Reportedly, every time missiles are intercepted, they are dismantled and sent for study to Russia, to improve the operation of electronic warfare and air defense systems.

Lol I literally post the visually confirmed, geolocated losses for both Russia and Ukraine every day. Those are compiled independently and are not the product of Russian or Ukrainian propaganda. You're sniffing glue if you believe anything that either Kyiv or Moscow report regarding the numbers of losses of the opposition.

Both Oryx and Andrew Perpetua go to great lengths to track losses that are actually virtually confirmed and geolocated. They certainly are not perfect. In a world of long range strikes and contested war zones, there is armor and artillery on both sides of the war that gets destroyed and is unaccounted for. That said, if either side's propaganda regarding the other's losses was legitimate, either Russia would be at the doorstep of Lviv right now, or Russia would have been pushed out of Ukraine entirely.
onyx also double counts and claims their destroyed tanks were russian and had Julian roepke call them out. No one can outpost Tam from sino defense net of destroyed Ukrainian equipment with more destroyed Russian equipment.

The Novosibirsk Design Bureau "Spectrum" is developing the robotic platform "Ezhik-RSZO" equipped with a reactive volley fire system (RSZO). Executive Director of the organization, Andrey Bratenkov, reported this to TASS.

"The Bureau continues to expand the lineup of robotic platforms 'Ezhik.' The next modification will be equipped with RSZO for prospective 600g cumulative-fragmentation munitions. The RSZO, which will be mounted on the 'Ezhik,' will be capable of six launches. The armor penetration of the munition is 200 mm. Essentially, this will be quite a formidable machine capable of approaching a strongpoint and destroying it, as well as enemy armored vehicles approaching Russian borders," the developer stated.

According to him, mini-RSZO is planned to be used at short distances. "In open terrain, spotting a small green machine crawling towards you is not an easy task. For example, during the night, it's unlikely that a strongpoint will be prepared to repel an attack with mini-RSZO," Bratenkov added.

The platform will be produced in two versions. "We plan to produce two modifications - tracked and wheeled. Both versions have their pros and cons. We are considering how to combine both forms to have a wheeled base, but if necessary, people could change it to a tracked one. KB 'Spectrum' strives for modular platforms, standardizing our products as much as possible so that the control of drones - both aerial and ground - is carried out through the same control panels, via compatible communication channels, so that our soldiers don't have to carry a bunch of relay equipment," the specialist added.

Эксперт рассказал об особенностях нового дрона «Джокер»

Joker drones can carry 5 kg of explosives and fly at a speed of 100 km / h, military expert Viktor Litovkin told Izvestia on March 29.
According to him, the drone has two interesting features. First, it has a hibernator that allows you to disconnect its battery when the drone arrives at certain locations and lies down at predetermined points.
"In winter, it can lie down and wait for the command to blow it up for a week, in summer for a month. It can carry 5 kg of explosives and fly at a speed of 100 km/h," he said.
According to Litovkin, the second feature of the drone is an electric detonator, which can explode both from touching the drone, and from the fact that it is given a command, or from a set timer.
The expert noted that the UAV operator monitors what is happening around him, and if enemy units appear nearby, the drone is activated and hits the enemy. It is a time bomb. Litovski concluded that the mine in the drone is set to anti-handling devices, so if it is touched or the wires are cut, the drone will explode.
The overflight is normal: drone operators will be able to communicate with aircraft crews
How the allocation of a special frequency for this will affect the safety and speed of cargo delivery
Earlier in the day, Denis Fedutinov, editor-in-chief of the specialized publication Unmanned Aviation, RIAC expert, shared his opinion on the drone with Izvestia. He noted that the device has the function of self-destruction in case of failure to complete the task, so that the enemy could not use the device for its subsequent analysis.

DRONES AIR FORCE (AIR FORCE) DEFENSE
Highlight the essentials off
Russian troops and facilities will be protected from drones with the help of special mobile anti-aircraft gun groups. Currently, they are being formed as part of several Russian combined arms armies, as well as the armies of the Air Force and Air Defense, sources in the Russian Defense Ministry told Izvestia. They will be armed with ZU-23-2 automatic cannons mounted on truck chassis, as well as pickup trucks equipped with large-caliber machine guns. The use of such mobile firearms is a cheap and effective way to protect against drones, experts say.
Time-tested
In addition to firepower, the new units will include electronic warfare equipment and smoke detectors, sources told Izvestia. The latter can cover the object with a thermal smoke screen, impervious to both optoelectronic systems and UAV thermal imagers.
The ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun is designed to protect slow-moving and stationary objects from strikes by tactical fighters, attack aircraft, helicopters and some types of drones. It has two 23-mm barrels, which can fire at a rate of 1.6-2 thousand rounds per minute.
The ZU-23, mounted on the truck chassis, was actively used during wars and military conflicts in recent decades. It has proven to be an effective means not only against air, but also against ground targets.
If the ammunition of anti-aircraft gun mounts includes explosive ammunition, then their effectiveness will be quite high, military expert Alexei Leonkov told Izvestia.

I am assuming the reason why alot of Turkish users side with Ukraine more is maybe the Crimean Tatars whom are turkish were better off with Ukrainians than Russians?

Well there is bad news today, remember Zelensky thumping his chest about 1991 borders? He is now saying 2014 borders.
“Zelensky said that once Russian troops retreat from these territories, Putin's support inside the country will be shaken, and Ukraine will not have to liberate all its territories seized since 2014 "exclusively by military means."

But lets see how the rest of the war will go. The borders might go all the way back before Lenin for all we know.

Ukrainian media published footage of an attack by Ukrainian FPV drones on Russian robotic platforms. The video was filmed in the Avdeevsky direction. It is unknown what model of robot was used by the Russian army, but it is equipped with AGS-17 grenade launchers and a TM-62 anti-tank mine installation system. Judging by the number on the robot, at least 6 of them have already been produced. There are no details of the battle, but the robots participated in the battle and for an unknown reason stand motionless. The video shows how Ukrainian FPV drones attack them. We can say that we are witnessing the first robot battles in Ukraine.

Western Artillery is at the heart of Ukrainian resistance.
They need substantially more and most importantly, the shells to maximize effectiveness.

France 🇫🇷 is producing 78 additional CAESAR howitzers this year, which will all be sent to Ukraine, paid for by Ukraine, France and Denmark. All will be delivered in 2024.

Germany 🇩🇪 is producing 36 Panzerhaubitze 2000s and 36 RCH-155 for Ukraine. Only some units will be delivered in 2024, with the majority of units being delivered in 2025.

Gernany 🇩🇪, Denmark 🇩🇰 and Norway 🇳🇴 have ordered 16 additional Zuzana 2 howitzers for Ukraine, with orders to be from Slovakia 🇸🇰 in 2024 and 2025.

Czech Republic 🇨🇿 has ordered 9 DITA howitzers for Ukraine but they're not due to be delivered until 2025.

Ukraine 🇺🇦 claims to be building 6 2S22 Bohdana howitzers each month, but I'm skeptical of the claim that they're capable of bringing 72 units online each year. If the actual number is half that (36), I would think that's more in line with reality.

The above is a good start, but reality it's not enough. The following would go a long way towards helping solve the problem...

100 additional M777 howitzers from the U.S. stockpile of approximately 900 units. USA 🇺🇸 Australian 🇦🇺 and Canadian 🇨🇦 donated M777s have suffered about 50% attrition over the last 2 years. A donation of an extra 100 would fully restock Ukrainian inventories.

Meanwhile, USA 🇺🇸 has roughly 350 M198 howitzers in storage. While older, they still compare favorably to Russia's D-30 howitzers, which they they still use significant quantities of. USA is paying to store the 155mm howitzers and they would serve better utility in Ukraine's hands.

There also also substantial quantities of M109 self-propelled howitzers of various variants across Europe and in the USA. The Americans have already sent 18 M109A6 variants. They can easily afford to send 36-54 more, with 1400 units on hand (including 850 in storage), with dozens of M109A7 variants on order. Meanwhile, Italy 🇮🇹, Britain 🇬🇧, Greece 🇬🇷 and Belgium still have access to a number of M109's that could be sent to Ukraine.

Lastly, Poland 🇵🇱 has ordered huge quantities of K9 Thunder units from South Korea 🇰🇷. They've also ordered further domestically produced Krab units, however, they've also produced 72 Krab units for Ukraine. It would be smart for them to reserve at least 50% of their Krab production for Ukraine for the foreseeable future. Selling to / donating to the Ukrainians 36'ish units pet year would help offset the attrition these workhorse units have faced.

In terms of rocket artillery, it's simple. Ukraine has substantial quantities of HIMARS and M270s to create huge problems for Russia, but it's all about ammunition supplies. USA has upped GMRLS production to 10,000 units in 2024 and will further up production to 14,000 units in 2025. They're also set to produce roughly 1000 units of GLSDB in 2024 , before quadrupling that number to 4000 units in 2025. Then there is the topic of ATAM / ATACM missiles that are quickly being replaced by PrSM missiles. Donating a couple hundred ATAM / ATACMs to Ukraine would substantially improve Ukraine's long range strike capability in it's attempt to threaten strategic Russian assets.

Finally, Western artillery has to be supplemented by Western cruise missiles that can strike beyond the range of artillery. Britain 🇬🇧 and France 🇫🇷 have already provided SCALP and Stormshadow and both have been used effectively, in limited quantities. With the deployment of F-16s comes the availability of the American made JASSM cruise missile, which the Americans have thousands of in their inventories (they build about 500 units per year and are expanding production). Several hundred JASSMS would create a lot of problems for the Russian air defense and it would make many of their assets in Crimea extremely vulnerable.

Ukraine, previously a net energy exporter (mainly to Poland and Romania) are now importing electricity from those countries. If the attack on energy generation infrastructure continues, a lot of money will be spend to pay for higher EU ⚡ prices.

Most of the strikes are against hydro and coal/oil fired power plants, and there seems yet a concerted effort to hit Ukraine's remaining nuclear ☢️power plant. Am no expert in nuclear power plant, but is it safe to bomb those as well?
