People continue to be evacuated from dangerous areas of the region

The evacuation is carried out with the support of volunteers, and also takes into account the difficult security situation due to shelling and drone attacks from the Russian Federation.

Since the deoccupation of the right bank of the Kherson region from Russian invaders, more than 48 thousand local residents have been evacuated to safer settlements. This was reported during a briefing on Saturday, November 9, by Deputy Head of the Regional Military Administration Yaroslav Shanko.

"Highest losses since ____ " isn't a great way to look at this. If Russia's known for *anything*, militarily-speaking, it's eating losses and continuing on. It's literally their thing. Pick a war, any war, ever, this is generally the way it goes. Russia fucks up to begin with, totally unprepared, underestimating what they're facing, get punched in the head repeatedly and have to limp backwards and take a long deep look inside themselves. Yes. They also also learn the lessons, recalibrate and reorganize, and come back actually-prepared now and fucking curbstomp anything in their path with pure grit and numbers and production power.

Russian losses aren't a metric. Life is way cheaper over there than we see it in the west, and what they've suffered here is a pinprick by Russian standards. The public over there is just factually on Putin's side here as far as the "national threat" stuff, the dissidents being interviewed on VICE or PBS or whatever are a tiny insignificant minority, and unfortunately the war-machine behemoth marches on to an inevitable victory. Zelensky, time to get with the program and save some Ukies.

This image does not support your argument, it does the opposite. Kherson is in the South, the one marked 82.3% (in 2003). Yet still, those fleeing choose to go to Ukraine.

When the USSR dissolved, with 84% of electorate participating, 90% voted in favor of independence, including majorities in both Crimea and Donbas. The referendum was accepted by all countries, including Russia. The percent of people speaking Ukrainian, and % wanting closer relations with Europe over Russia, has only increased since then.

I'm from Kharkiv and spoke Russian my whole life. Everyone around me did as well. We still identify as Ukrainians. @UkroTurk brought up a similar personal example since he was in Donetsk in 2014. There was never a majority seeking to join Russia in Russian-speaking areas of Ukraine. Continuing to argue otherwise while trying moralize Russia's behavior is absurd.

I get it that you and him are great story tellers but as story tellers why can't you guys post proof like I have on who is majorly Russian speaking than Ukrainian speaking? Every self proclaimed Ukraine user here is a trust me bro kind of guy. Why would the east vote to join Russia? Why would the east be getting bombed from the Ukrainians since 2014? Why did the West do the maiden massacre to the east? Neither you or him for whatever reason can never give me straight answers.

Well, yes, in Ukraine many, mainly in the cities, spoke Russian. I lived in Ukraine in the 80s. In Odessa, in Kyiv, in Kharkov. People mostly communicated in Russian. But Ukrainians communicated with each other in Ukrainian.
Do you find Russia's claims to the territories of a neighboring state legitimate only on the basis that they speak Russian there. But what about the fact that Russia recognized all these territories as Ukrainian?
During the Soviet era, I lived in northern Kazakhstan. Almost the same situation was there. Russia does not hide its claims to northern Kazakhstan.
If Ukraine's allies give in to Russian claims in Ukraine, then Kazakhstan will suffer the same fate. And not only Kazakhstan.
In many African countries, in former colonies, people communicate in French. The French even came up with a special name for 12 African states - "Françafrique". So what? Are these French lands? Is this France?
You live in the USA. You speak English. So what? The USA is England? :)

When this war started I wanted to know the breakdown of use of the Russian and Ukrainian languages in Ukraine. Don't remember the source (would have been something academic) but I was surprised to read that most households in the study reportedly used both languages when communicating in the home environment. That suggests to me that the choice of language to use was not a clear indicator of the 'culture' or 'cultural affiliation' of the people in the study.

A lot of what I read from posters supporting Russia I dismiss as biased or ridiculous propaganda. The above report I can find credible.

WARNING: VIDEO MAY CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES - but it is my source to support what I write

I can can also find credible the above report of Russia suffering record losses in a day. I don't trust the actual number given but I can believe that this was Russia's worst day of losses.

Footage has been published of the evacuation of a Ukrainian armored vehicle, the American-made Cougar H, by Russian repair units. The Cougar H armored vehicle was damaged and abandoned in the Kursk region of Russia by Ukrainian units. The Cougar H MRAP has been produced by the American company Force Protection Inc since 2002; there are 4x4 and 6x6 versions. These combat vehicles were first used in Iraq by the US Marine Corps sapper units. According to open data, Ukraine has received about 30 Cougar MRAP armored vehicles. The standard armament of the Cougar H is a 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine gun. The Cougar H armored vehicle is equipped with anti-mine protection capable of withstanding an explosion of 14 kg of TNT under any wheel or 7 kg of TNT under the hull. The Cougar 4x4 weighs from 14 to 17 tons, it can carry up to 6 people, including a crew of 2.

The rate of equipment losses for both Russia 🇷🇺 and Ukraine 🇺🇦 over the last few days has been exceptional. Andrew Perpetua and his team do a wonderful job of working through combat footage from both sides and posting losses. I've posted lots of his stuff previously, but here is a 3 day snapshot of the losses occurring across the various fronts. Both sides facing heavy attrition far beyond the pace at which they can replace losses.

With the above post in mind, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Ukraine needs a significant surge of additional equipment. If it has to be paid for using a portion of the G7's $50 Billion usd loan, so be it. But the following is required ASAP to replace losses and keep Russia's unsustainable attrition as high as possible. Note that some of this has already been pledged and simply needs to arrive ASAP.

Artillery
36x Panzerhaubitze 2000 (Pledged)🇩🇪
18x RCH-155 (Pledged) 🇩🇪
18x Bohdana 2 (Pledged) 🇩🇰
36x CAESAR 155mm (Pledged) 🇫🇷🇩🇰
14x Zuzana 2 (Pledged) 🇩🇪🇩🇰🇳🇱🇸🇰
18x DITA (9x Pledged) 🇨🇿
18x M777 🇺🇸
18x M109A6 🇺🇸
18x M109L B/L 🇬🇧🇮🇹🇩🇰

Main Battle Tanks
100x Leopard 1 (47 Pledged) 🇩🇪🇮🇹
100x Leopard 2 (33 Pledged) 🇩🇪🇵🇱🇪🇸🇸🇪🇫🇮🇩🇰🇨🇦
100x M1A1 Abrams (49 Pledged) 🇦🇺🇺🇸
100x T-72 (55 Pledged) 🇨🇿🇵🇱🇩🇰🇭🇷

Infantry Fighting Vehicles
200x Bradley M2-ODS 🇺🇲
200x Stryker 🇺🇸
50x Marder 🇩🇪
50x CV90 (35 Pledged) 🇸🇪🇳🇱🇫🇮🇳🇴
50x BMP-2 (Pledged) 🇨🇿🇩🇰🇭🇷
100x BMP-1 🇵🇱🇬🇷🇨🇿
50x AMX-10 RC (30 Pledged) 🇫🇷

Armored Personnel Carriers
200x M113 🇺🇸
200x VAB (Pledged) 🇫🇷
100x Kirpi 🇹🇷
100x Rosomak / Patria 🇵🇱🇫🇮🇱🇻
50x Dingo 🇩🇪
50x Bushmaster 🇦🇺
50x LAV 6.0 🇨🇦
50x M117 🇺🇲
100x MaxxPro 🇺🇸

All of that exists inside the respective inventories of those nations and none of it would impact the military readiness of NATO or the EU. Everything listed is either surplus, held by private industry, or can be replaced from inventories quickly. There simply has to be the political will to send it to Ukraine, who already operate everything listed above.

Do they even record the time and dates, the losses Kiev claims means they should be pushing the Russians back not the other way around. When was the last time the sun published Russian losses on YouTube before that video?

Russian MoD reporting 2180 Ukrainian casualties over the past 24 hours including Kursk;

During the day, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 300 servicemen, a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, two armored personnel carriers, eight armored combat vehicles, as well as three artillery pieces, a mortar and seven cars were destroyed. Five servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine surrendered.

If we believe the Ukrainians their Russian casualty claims there would be a stalemate and not this shit happening

I scrolled through the Suns YouTube channel you showed me and saw nothing the past 7 days(maybe more if I keep scrolling) of an update on Russian losses. And you wonder why Trump and his son want to cut funding.

Andrew Perpetua, Oryx and Warspotting all track both Russian and Ukrainian losses. You can also find a picture for every Russian vehicle on the Oryx website. You can also find thousands of Russian losses on the Reddit Combat Footage page. Covert Cabal also runs a YouTube channel in which he and his team use satelite imagery to track Russian vehicles and artillery removed from storage, used to replace Russian losses. It's fascinating how low Russia is on easily restored vehicles.

There are very good open source resources tracking the demise of the Soviet arsenal that was left to Russia.

A pattern of Russia having losses of 1,000+ a day seems to have been reported for a long time by the UK MOD. I do not think that they simply ask Ukraine for the numbers. Given that Russia is advancing, I can believe that Russian daily losses have risen. From what to what I do not know.

Agreed, I would not call The Sun a good, reliable source but it depends on the journalist concerned. I know one editor on the paper who describes himself as 'old school' - you do your best to report facts.

A post serving no purpose other than trolling.

Another rule broken in the previous post -
"The war will continue as long as the UK keeps being a spiteful little bitch of a country."
"name calling other... countries [are] strictly forbidden." - https://defencehub.live/threads/forum-rules.802/#post-4292

I genuinely wonder why you became a moderator here, considering you don't know/respect the rules of this forum, and regularly make posts that are flat out lies. A very bad precedent to set for other users.
Wow he's a mod? I've had him on ignore since it was clear he's a propagandist on some payroll.
