The question is, it is Russian manpower available for such daunting task? Second, it is Russian economies can survive to achieve such long goals? Third, is the Ukraine without any strategy to prevent such scenario as they too already learning Syrian lesson and being assisted by the Western allies
Just for notes, Russian population is only around 140 million people and they already have minus growth for years, to recruit more conscript they need more money, time for refreshing training, and within reasonable costs and that's must be considered the rioting risks among their people once they know they would be send to meat grinder battlefield as some units started to resist deployment.
Their economy GDP is between 1,6 to 1,8 trillion US Dollar and that's keep shrinking at noticeable speed, then their state revenue is not much larger compared to middle class countries like South Korea or Spain around 345 Billion US Dollar.
I don't think they can burn people and money more than six month long when looking at this figure.
Why don't they do the same for South Osetia and Abkhazia?
