Videos show 2 identical, very large explosions half a second apart on opposite sides of the air base, so for sure it's not an accident. Airplanes aren't seen or heard, and the airbase is out of range of all known Ukrainian weapons - probably we are seeing a new weapon in use, most likely the ATACMS.

Is Russia incapable of shooting down these surface to surface missiles/rockets?

The attack on the airfield in Novofedorovka could have been carried out with the help of the Grom , - RBC.

The only Ukrainian weapon that can reach the Saki region is the Grom operational-tactical missile system, which has a range of 50-280 km. It can be increased up to 450-500 km.

Its not a big deal supplying Ukraine with weapons, the Russians supplied Haftar, Assad and Pashinyon with free weapons to be directly used against Turkish forces and or Turkish allies.

We need to snap out of this mindset that being good to Russia is good for Turkey. Be terrible to them, that way you will get the best Russia possible.

As it turns out Russian weapons are terrible, so its not like buying their stuff is ever going to be feasible moving forward irrespective of how many sanctions the USA places against Turkey.
