On the geo-political surface I would agree with you. However there is an global factional war going on between the globalists and civilizations. With Russia/China/Iran on one side and the 'west' on the other. Turkey was part of the west, but the west tried to overthrow its ruling faction. So does that make the current Turkish elite part of the west or the civilization faction. Right now I think Turkey is trying to plot its own course, however in the end it will need to pick a side. And if it chooses the civilization side and not the globalist side, that would open massive alliance potential between Turkey and Russia. Britain and France were historical enemies for 800 years plus, then they allies against the central European Empires. In another factional conflict for world domination.

The Turkish economy is in a bad place right now, government policies making it worse, you are trying to create military bases which you can't support because you don't control the Suez canal, you are supporting smaller allied states and are being sucked into the Balkans, you are being pressured by France and Greece in the mediterranean. So an alliance with Russia would basically solve your issues, even a general partnership with Russia.
Siding with "anti globalist" block wilk not solve that problem, unless China make paralel world monetary financing system and start puring money around the world there will always be clear disadvantage for countries who decides firmly to stand by them and also Turkiye has approximatelly same amount of open issues with Russia as with West in terms of achieving their geopolitical goals.

Im really getting sick of this promotion of women soldiers.

Seriously ridiculous man.

Everytime women soldiers or women fighters got promoted by the media.

Only thing I saw was them getting annilated.

Remember the super duper kurdish women fighters who were going to make Syria a Vietnam for the TSK. Only to get annilated in a matter of days.

Tell me what will happen here? Russia will easily annilate them with ease. Forget soldiers its all about Tech.

Boris Johnson believes that the West underestimates the situation around Ukraine

According to the head of government, possible sanctions "cannot exclude" the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream-2, the newspaper writes.

The UK may support a "nuclear" scenario of sanctions against Moscow, which includes disconnecting Russia from the interbank system for transmitting information about payments SWIFT, the Telegraph newspaper writes.

According to sources close to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, he fears that some of the world leaders may underestimate the deteriorating situation on the border of Ukraine "or fully or not fully comprehend the risks from an aggressive Russia."

According to the head of government, possible sanctions "cannot rule out" the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream-2. Johnson plans to discuss with the leaders of the G7 the formation of a "sanctions coalition" and outline targeted sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Earlier, Bloomberg, citing a source, said that the British authorities instructed the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be ready for the transition to a crisis mode of operation due to the situation around Ukraine.

In such a scenario, the staff of the Foreign Office will focus their activities, in particular, on the development of sanctions. According to the Telegraph, the British authorities have already begun to consider options for economic sanctions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom considers the situation around Ukraine to be key for its policy, a spokesman for the department said. On Saturday, the ministry said it had information about Moscow's plans for a coup in Ukraine. The White House said they were alarmed by this information.

Western countries began to warn the Russian Federation about possible sanctions after foreign media began to write about the impending invasion of Ukraine at the end of last year. Disconnection from SWIFT is named among the possible sanctions.

UK Attorney General Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab

The minister did not rule out the development, together with NATO partners, of sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

Britain will impose sanctions on Russia not only in the event of an invasion of the territory of Ukraine, but also in the event that Moscow establishes a "puppet regime" in Kiev, said the British Attorney General, Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab.

"We will support [Ukraine] in protecting ourselves, as well as the international community, NATO allies in the West. We stand shoulder to shoulder and declare that Russia will face very serious consequences if it tries to invade and also establish a puppet regime," he told Sky News.

At the same time, according to him, sending the UK military to Ukraine in the event of an invasion is an "unlikely" scenario. The minister also did not rule out the development, together with NATO partners, of sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

The Deputy Prime Minister, however, recalled that Britain is participating in training programs for Ukrainian military personnel.

Earlier it was reported that the British authorities continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine amid the risk of a Russian invasion. So, after the delivery of two thousand anti-tank weapons, elite fighters went to Ukraine - instructors who will teach the Ukrainian military to use new equipment.

The British Foreign Office said on the eve that Moscow is looking for ways to bring a loyal leader to power in Ukraine, and is also considering the possibility of invading and occupying the country. The White House said they were alarmed by this information. Later, the media reported that American intelligence had the same data.

Escalation in Ukraine. US seeks gas for Europe - FT

The talks concern long-term guarantees for the security of LNG supplies, newspaper sources say.

The United States is in talks with Qatar and a number of other natural gas exporters about emergency measures in case a further deterioration in relations between Ukraine and Russia leads to disruption of gas supplies to Europe. The Financial Times writes about this, citing senior White House officials.

“We are looking at what we can do about this, especially given that it is now the middle of winter and Europe’s gas reserves are already low. We are trying to understand what … we can prepare now if and when the crisis escalates,” one said. from the administration of the President of the United States.

Another source of the newspaper says that the negotiations concern long-term guarantees for the security of LNG supplies, given the fact that Qatar, for example, intends to significantly increase LNG production in the coming years.

"In the short term, everything depends on the agreement of other client countries to redirect [supplies] and the availability of free LNG. However, Qatar redirected supplies in 2011 to Japan after the tsunami, so there is a precedent, but only in case of a crisis," the source said.

Earlier, Member of the European Commission for Energy Kadri Simson called geopolitical tensions one of the reasons for high gas prices.

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis on Sunday expressed his concern over “rising tensions” in Ukraine that threaten peace, and called for political talks that put at the center “human brotherhood instead of partisan interests.”
“I am following with concern the rising tensions that threaten to inflict a new blow to peace in Ukraine, and put in question the security in Europe with even wider repercussions,” Francis said.
Francis called for a day of prayer for peace on Wednesday so that political talks may focus on “human brotherhood instead of partisan interests,” adding “those who pursue their own goals to the detriment of others despise their own human vocation because we have all been created as brothers.”

Prime Minister of Bavaria against Ukraine's accession to NATO

2703778.jpg

January 23, 2022, 16:44

The Bavarian politician followed the path of the former head of the German Navy

Markus Soeder opposes tough anti-Russian sanctions for aggression against Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of the German state of Bavaria, Markus Soeder, spoke out against tough anti-Russian sanctions, saying that Moscow is not an enemy of Europe.

In an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Zeder noted that "no one can want a war in Europe, while the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine must be respected in accordance with international law."

At the same time, he expressed confidence that the ever-tougher sanctions against Russia cannot become an independent solution.

"On the one hand, because sanctions have long been ineffective, and on the other hand, because these new sanctions often harm us no less. For example, disconnecting Russia from the SWIFT financial system. Or closing the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, or even stopping all supplies gas from Russia as a whole would also affect our country. Even at the height of the Cold War, the energy connection between the Soviet Union and Germany was not in doubt, "said the Bavarian politician.

Zeder also spoke out against Ukraine's entry into NATO in the near future.

"Despite all the justified criticism of Russia, the West will ultimately have to answer the key question: is NATO expanding to include Ukraine or not?" You certainly cannot let Russia dictate here. But you still need to answer. In my opinion, one thing is clear: NATO's eastward expansion to include Ukraine will not be on the agenda for a long time to come," Zeder said.

According to him, NATO is not committed to a military alliance with Ukraine: "It is a matter of clarity and honesty to define a strategy that takes this into account while protecting the territorial integrity of Ukraine."

Zeder stressed that Russia is "a difficult partner, but not an enemy of Europe", so it is necessary to maintain contact with Moscow. He said that most Germans want a stable and peaceful relationship with Russia.

He also said that he "cannot imagine" the supply of German weapons to Ukraine.
