No sane military strategist would do that. Russia's military doctrine does elicit the use of multiple echelons in their attacks, but the first third of these has already gone in and they aren't supposed to be the worst of the bunch but the best. Sending in the worst just gives their opponent more time and a morale boost and PR victory, and risks a morale collapse in their own forces, and for little to no benefit to them. It's just a silly idea that would never be used in a real war.

The idea is exhausted Ukrainian positions would be decimated by the more modern and professional components, especially if they are out of position regarding the conflict. Russia has advanced everywhere Ukrainians could not defend, remaining defenders cannot reposition fast enough without being attacked en route.

Why risk shiny T-90's so early ? Or the new Su plane when older equipment is doing the job ?

No combined arms cooperation, severe lack of communications between different russian services and units, poor battle management, poor logistics, conscripts (who stayed for weeks on Ukraine borders in the cold) fooled on the real reasons of their deployment (Some still think they are in Ukraine for exercices....) .... nothing could go wrong I guess.

The myth of the Russian army is fading away in front of the world, you can find every excuses but the Russian campaign is actually an extreme failure on every possible points.

Yes of course, no denying it, we have seen various videos, but nowhere NEAR the claim of destroyed equipment, we have maybe seen 10-20% of the claim in actual videos.

Russia has

Around 1500~ battle aircraft

Around 300 Su-24
Around 200 Su-25
Around 300 Mig-29/35
Around 550 Flankers of various versions
Around 120 Strategic bombers

Around 1400~ attack helos of Ka-52/Mi-28/Mi-24/Mi-8/Mi-17

Around 3000 Artillery
Around 1100 Rocket Artillery
326 Iskander cruise missile launchers
Around 2000 Anti Air vehicles (Excluding S-300 etc)
Around 3000 Main Battle Tanks
Around 15.000-18.000 Armored Vehicles

Lets say Russia has around 40% available forces for the operation in Ukraine at the moment, so:

1300 tanks
8000 armored vehicles of all types plus AA
around 1800 Arty and Rocket Arty
around 600 attack helos
around 650-700 aircraft
And they do have 150.000 soldiers

Even if the figure of russian losses is half what Ukraine claims (which I doubt.. I would say its 1/3)

Thats like 5-7% of their land forces and like 2% of their air forces and 1-2% of their soldiers

Its not very high at all, and heavy fighting going on, im sure Ukraine lost a ton of equipment not only by missile strikes but also in battles, and yet they only seem to report Russian losses.

And im not with Russia at all, im against this and against this absurd war just to make it clear, im just trying to say that you guys are getting overly excited and that the situation is not looking as great as it might seem from only looking at it from this perspective and the ukrainian claims of russian losses.. I actually have a bad feeling about this all... but we will have to wait a couple of weeks to see how it all pans out.
No doubt that the losses are small when Russia's total arsenal is put into consideration. Also, Ukrainian losses have got to be very heavy, no one is denying that. But there's just a lot more footage coming from the Ukrainian side. A lot of people are surprised by Ukraine's performance so far, especially after the first day, when it looked like it was all over for them. This war is still less than a week old, only time will tell how it goes. The odds are against Ukraine, but all those deliveries from NATO might make a huge difference. If Russia doesn't gain air superiority, it will struggle. For this reason, NATO is delivering truckloads of AA equipment.

Important to note, Russia's ability to rebuild it's army after this war will be significantly limited. Sanctions are crushing the economy. Their access to modern technology is cut. Russian in masses will try to migrate including talented scientists and engineers. Therefore, every single ruski loss in this conflict matters.

Putin just destroyed russia. Russia as we know it is history.

Lets not forget the reforms and modernisation of the Russian Armed Forces.

Invasion of Ukraine is their real test if they can fight a modern conventional war of the 21st century.
