Unsuccessful counterattack of Ukraine on the positions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Zaporozhye region.

The Ukronazis tried to counterattack, but lost 26 tanks, 12 infantry fighting vehicles and 100 units of personnel. The Russian Ministry of Defense reports details of the battle:

On May 14, the Kiev regime attempted to attack units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the forces of two Ukrainian mechanized battalions on tanks and infantry fighting vehicles

Correct, the only information we've got is he tracked an object at ~200 miles. Does he meant that is the maximum track range of the APG-81 ? No way to tell.....

otoh... This shows APG-81 and DAS tracking at almost the same time. Reportedly at the time of testing, the range is around 1300km.

Is Northrop bullshitting here ??
I hate to tell you this but you have absolutely no idea or any clue how sensor fusion works and at this point this is just coping. Just because an infrared sensor spotted a rocket 1300kms away means a radar can see a rocket 1300kms away but at a closer range. And just so you know the radar came 1 year later on the F-35 when the F-22 received its 4th gen radar in 2007. The F-22 had a 400km range (200km something for radar beam of 120 degrees)only with a 2 degree by 2 degree radar beam and all of a sudden you think that a radar being introduced a year later will get more than 3 times the radar range of the F-22. Can you just quietly take the L for this without further embarassing yourself? 1300kms is achieved with BMs, 30km+ with aircrafts, 200 miles with radar. if it spots a rocket 1300kms away a pilot will see that on infrared but no magic would be pulled out of his ass like you believe that he can track it on radar from 1300kms away. However he can track a target on infrarred and radar if the target comes at a closer range if that is what your video is saying.

hehe, first of all we're talking about SAR capabilities, not air-air tracking capabilities LOL. in which the IRBIS reportedly able to give a resolution of around 3m at a range we don't know and the APG-70 also with a resolution of around 2.6m also at a range we don't know.

So until we know the specific spec on both, there's no way we could say which one is the better one.

in post #12,748 yo mention this:
1652709162359.png
safe to say you're mixing the air-air detection data with the SAR resolution....lol
The conversation that was earlier was I said that the irbis was more powerful than the apg-70 or F-16 radar and if the Irbis can spot the same target but at a farther range than I still stand corrected that the Irbis has a more powerful radar.

DONETSK, May 17. /TASS/. Over 250 Ukrainian militants entrenched in the Azovstal steel complex in Mariupol, including 51 wounded personnel, surrendered, the territorial defense headquarters of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) reported on Tuesday.

"Overall, 256 Ukrainian militants have surrendered from the territory of the Azovstal steel works in Mariupol. There were 51 wounded militants among those captured," the headquarters said on its Telegram channel.

Currently, the wounded are receiving medical assistance, the headquarters said.

The Russian Defense Ministry earlier reported that an agreement had been reached on Monday with the Ukrainian troops sealed off on the territory of the Azovstal steel plant on extracting wounded Ukrainian military personnel from the plant. The ministry also said that a ceasefire was in effect in the area around the enterprise and an evacuation corridor had been opened for wounded Ukrainian servicemen, through which they were being delivered to a health institution in Novoazovsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) for receiving all required medical assistance.

The Ukrainian side earlier reported that 53 heavily wounded Ukrainian militants had been evacuated from Azovstal on May 16 to Novoazovsk controlled by the DPR forces and 211 Ukrainian troops had been taken to Yelenovka through a humanitarian corridor.

At a meeting with Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu on April 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin handed down a directive calling off a looming assault on Azovstal as inexpedient and ordered that the industrial zone there be tightly sealed off so that even a fly "couldn’t get through."

Defense Minister Shoigu said at a conference call on May 4 that the remnants of the Ukrainian combat group had been reliably sealed off along the entire perimeter of the Azovstal steel complex while the Russian forces continued attempts to persuade them to lay down their arms. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on May 4 that the Russian troops were not storming the plant’s territory but were suppressing the attempts by the Ukrainian militants holed up there to assume firing positions.

The Uralvagonzavod defense manufacturer (part of the state tech corporation Rostec) held a ceremony of dispatching a new batch of the latest T-90M ‘Proryv’ main battle tanks to Russian troops, the enterprise’s press office reported on Tuesday.

"Uralvagonzavod held a special ceremony of dispatching a train with T-90M ‘Proryv’ tanks to the Russian Defense Ministry," the press office said in a statement.

Under the defense procurement plan, Uralvagonzavod delivers to the Russian troops both new T-90M ‘Proryv’ tanks and armored vehicles upgraded to this level.

"The preparations for and the assimilation of the mass production of these modern armored vehicles have been implemented at the enterprise in full and positive results of qualification tests have been received," the press office added.

Briefing by Russian Defence Ministry

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation in Ukraine.

The surrender of fighters from the Azov nationalist unit and Ukrainian servicemen blocked at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol began yesterday.
Over the past 24 hours, 265 militants have laid down arms and surrendered, including 51 seriously wounded. All those in need of medical assistance were sent for treatment to a hospital in Novoazovsk, Donetsk People's Republic.

High-precision long-range sea-based Kalibr missiles near Starichi railway station in Lvov Region have destroyed the personnel of Ukrainian reserve formations, as well as shipments of foreign weapons and military equipment from the United States and European countries, prepared for shipment to Donbass.

High-precision air- and ground-based long-range missiles have destroyed enemy reserves that were completing their combat coordination at the training centers near Akhtyrka, Sumy Region, and Desna, Chernigov Region.

High-precision air-based missiles of the Russian Aerospace Forces have hit 2 command posts and 1 communications centre, including those of the 30th Mechanized Brigade near Bakhmut, 28 areas of AFU manpower and military equipment concentration, and 2 missile-artillery weapons and ammunition depots near Ugledar and Konstantinovka in Donetsk People's Republic.

The attacks have resulted in the elimination of more than 470 nationalists and up to 68 armoured and motor vehicles.

In addition, 1 traction power substation have been destroyed near Merefa railway station in Kharkov region, which was delivering weapons and military equipment from the United States and Western countries to Donbass.

Operational-tactical and army aviation have hit 9 command posts, 93 areas of AFU manpower and military equipment concentration, as well as 3 ammunition depots near Luparevo and Shevchenkovo in Nikolaev region.

Missile troops and artillery have hit 6 command posts, 224 areas of AFU manpower and military equipment concentration, 12 artillery and mortar batteries at firing positions, 4 BM-21 Grad MLRS batteries and 2 air target detection radar stations.

Russian air defence means have shot down 23 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over Pitomnik, Izyum, Snezhkovka, Olkhovatka, Dementievka, Russkaya Lozovaya, Bolshie Prokhody and Petrovskoe in Kharkov Region, Staromikhailovka, Novotamarovka, Novotroitskoe, Nevelskoe, Sverdlovo, Avdeevka and Vladimirovka in Donetsk People's Republic.

8 Smerch rockets have been intercepted near Chernobaevka, Kherson Region.

Yesterday between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. Ukrainian nationalists used Smerch multiple rocket launchers to hit residential areas of Kherson. Russian air defence means have intercepted all 10 Ukrainian rockets.

I would like to stress that there are no units of Russian troops in Kherson. The Kiev regime is well informed about this. The strike was deliberately targeted at civilians in Kherson in retaliation for supporting the Russian Federation.

In total, 168 Ukrainian aircraft and 125 helicopters, 912 unmanned aerial vehicles, 309 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,134 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 385 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,542 field artillery and mortars, as well as 2,983 units of special military vehicles were destroyed during the operation.

T-90M ‘Proryv’ main battle tank

The T-90M ‘Proryv’ tank was developed by the Urals Design Bureau of Transport Machine-Building (part of Uralvagonzavod). As its developers highlight, the ‘Proryv’ is the most advanced armored vehicle in the family of T-90 tanks and most of all fit for operations on a present-day battlefield thanks to its all-round protection, a modern round-the-clock highly automated fire control system and enhanced survivability technology.

According to the data of Uralvagonzavod, the T-90M has undergone multilayered modernization and can be rightly called a new combat vehicle. It has received a principally new turret differing from a serial-produced combat module and a more powerful 1,130 hp engine.

The ‘Proryv’ is outfitted with a 125mm tank cannon that can fire new powerful munitions and also missiles capable of eliminating enemy tanks at a range of up to 5 km. The new multichannel sight enables the tank to employ its armaments at any time of day or night. In addition, the option of exchanging data with other combat vehicles in real time has been one of the upgraded tank’s major advantages. The T-90M’s armor has anti-slip coating similar to that installed on the breakthrough T-14 ‘Armata’ main battle tank.

The first batch of upgraded T-90M ‘Proryv’ main battle tanks was delivered to the Russian troops in the spring of 2020. At the Army-2021 international arms show, the Russian Defense Ministry and Uralvagonzavod signed a contract on the delivery of another batch of T-90M main battle tanks and on the upgrade of operational T-90 tanks to the level of the T-90M.

Is there any Russian who is aware of what's going on or do they all have selective blindness?

How do you expect these poor fools to know what's going on, when their military and political leadership a clueless of what they are doing on the battlefield?

Mariupol defenders will be remembered as heroes and courage and determination will be associated with them. Cut off from the rest of Ukraine for months,a city leveled to the ground, resisting assaults from the hordes of kadyrovs,dnr/lnr and russian troops.
Mariupol might be the renaissance of Ukrainian nation building.
